Life

Life is a bowl of cherries
Life is a stage which we never leave
Life is an island on which we’re shipwrecked
Life seems to be an impossible mission that never ends
Life is God

Whatever else life happens to be
It is sometimes worse than getting stung by a bee
Even when there are soothing sounds which are supposed to help
We cannot always relax and be happy

But life is life and for every individual
it is allegedly different which may be hard
For some to understand regardless of demands
Which seem to be all around in different shapes-
Oh, why can’t there be less stress in life?

Frenchman Flat

Do I wake or dream?
Another one –
Life is a bowl of cherries.
One more –
Not with a whimper,
but with a bloody big bomb.

The house is ply-struts and particle composite.
Mum is cardboard,
but dad and my little sister are manikins,
and my older brother is a painted figure
of a younger brother’s imagination.

My dog is a real dog
chained to a bolted stake.
I wonder why my cardboard and plastic family
have a real dog?

Nevada is hot, not like my prairie house,
just a little house, like this one,
yet here I am adopted, and in the desert.
Mother is at the sink washing cherries, naturally,
Father is at the kitchen table
smoking his pipe, naturally.
Little sister is playing with dolls on the floor
melting in the heat.
Big brother is starting to singe at the corners.
The dog is listlessly sleeping.
A clock on the mantle is clacking loudly,
not telling the time but counting downwards.

Another one –
Goggles on now please.
Another one -
This is not a drill.

There’s a blinding light on the horizon.

Will I awake in time?
I miss my obliterated folks already.

Did they really sacrifice a dog
to see if an A-bomb could kill it?

Peter has 150 candy bars, he eats 125, what does he have now
Diabetes... thought it would be kinda obvious he'd be endowed
Should have known better
Followed doc's orders to the letter
Instead of gorging himself like a big fat cow

Music

I was asked what music means to me. Here's my response. I marked it as a lyric, I hope that's appropriate.

Music
Some say life is a bowl of cherries
Some say life is a joke
Some say life is good
As in, Nebraska The Good Life

I say life is music
It's better when you sing
I say life is music
Absolutely Grand when you dance

The time comes and life gives you
Life gives you something fantastic
Eventually you find the one
That God has meant for you

I say life is music
It's better when you sing
I say life is music
Absolute Grand when you dance

We belong to each other. Taken a vow
A vow that means to forever together
An eternity, lives will be shared
Both good and bad. Adore and be adored.

I say life is music
It's better when you sing
I say life is music
Absolutely Grand when you dance

Premium Member Life's Sweet Buffet

Life is a bowl of cherries
With loads of luscious cream
It's a pocket full of peanuts
Or rowing a boat downstream!

Like snapping a turkey wishbone
And getting the larger piece
It's much like going parasailing
Or no longer being obese!

The soft cool breeze of summer
The warm sun upon our skin
Or a happy little birthday party
Some well played violin!

Like a happy family vacation
A trip to the stars and back
A piece of scrumptious apple pie
A tasty midnight snack!

Life can be about all these things
Just put your cares away
Ignore all those little wee problems
Enjoy life's sweet buffet!

Premium Member Cherries Canned Fresh Or In Jam

Cherries are delish
On top of a Banana Split
Topping on a Sundae center of whipped cream
Straight from the jar a tasty treat

They are so good by the pound
Fresh from the grocer
Get a bowl and bite around the pit
Or made into a jam_lickety split

But all those cherries have their pit
A lot like life
There's lot of good
But always some strife

We learn the best lessons
When we're in the pits
Somewhat like we get bowl of cherries but soon only have pits
But wasn't the good part wonderful

(Thoughts came on this one after remembering the line
"If life is a bowl of cherries, why am I in the pits"..
I think that Erma Bombeck said that but not sure..
Just not my line orginally.)
