Once In prime time I moved with a swagger,
Just stating facts, not being a bragger.
Now, I’ve become known as the town lagger.
as time has changed my walk to a stagger,

Health issues now have become my downfall,
It seems get up and go has gone AWOL.
Now little remains to ever enthral,
and clock has reduced my speed to a crawl.

But God just keeps blessing though life is tame,
* and I’ll forever praise His Holy name.

* Luke 19:40
“And he answered and said unto them,
I tell you that, if these should hold their peace,
the stones would immediately cry out.”

My Name Is

I'd rather have a nickname than Nick as a name
cus Nick is stained I'm in trouble or blamed
whenever I was successful a winner
everyone would say goowan Trimmer
so I don't care if I'm 34
with my nickname from school
cus Nick is a nasty sound
a sick bag passed around
when they say Nick
instinct "I didn't do it"
so rather than my Nick name I'll have my nickname
Trim Trimmer not Nicholas no brain dim dimmer
swagger like I'm drunk with jet lagger

Saint Patrick's Parade

Off, Seamus marched with a swagger,
Yet, soon, he slowed, that sly lagger.
Then, not very far,
He snuck to a bar:
By noon, his march was a stagger.

Phillip and Red

Average intelligence is difficult to know
with running buffoons thinking they are more
in tight skinned pants. The sole lagger
in basketball shorts is trying to keep up with them,
the wind pushing behind them while pounding him hard in front.
They do not understand his plight, they have always
done it right while he was the one trying to find
what was wrong by smoking 20 class A cigarettes out back.

He was never lax.
Kind of gauky with teenaged features and a long nose,
he managed to laugh at the wrong times and turn a certain red
that made him more of a dork.
He at least scrounged an existence on being the coolest
of the uncool.

Anonymity is easy to accept on a road trodden down.
For him it is classical. It is like the rest.
The money goes along with time but it keeps sanity from
being lost to the blinding daylight of midnight frights.

Letting Go

i lay this down at your feet,
i lay this down to rest,
for i know, dear lord, the reasons unknown are meant only for my best,
who can fathom your understanding, or reach out to touch the stars,
and i know the impossible sits in your hands, your boundaries are never to far,
who am i to walk too far ahead, or sit back and lagger behind,
all i need is to hold your hand, and walk right by your side,
the things i so desperately want in my life, may not be your plans for me,
and even still you know the secret desires of my heart, and you'll choose what's
meant to be,
in the meantime, i'll press into your love for me, and concentrate on my friendship
with you,
and whatever battles come my way, i know you'll take me through,
you'll give meaning and purpose in every answer that you reveal to me
what hurts right now, i'll later understand, my eyes will one day see.
