1980
With deep sadness, I heard the awful news,
My favourite stand up comedian Richard Pryor,
It was June 9th while being in a drug-induced psychosis,
He poured rum over his body and set himself on fire.
1981
It was cold December everywhere was covered with snow,
I was living in Ayrshire, Scotland, on the 24th day,
Everything was in order, all was going remarkably well,
I said I do and married my wife Elizabeth Daye.
1983 - 1984
My wife gave birth to my first daughter, Lily, Louise,
She was a beautiful child not because she was mine,
Sofie, Lexie was born giving me daughter number two;
That was May the year after on a sunny morning on day nine.
1986
Shocked I was by the sudden death of my beloved father,
I was the youngest and looked very much like him;
Six months after that, I was to receive the same news,
The death of my grandmother Kimberley but we called her Kim.

My sweet Dr. Kimberley called me today
I'll be here for a while, good to hear her say
Need Vitamin B12
For memory health
Thankfully though, I can continue my ballet

The emptiness and unhappiness so closely related
Left her with a hole bigger than Kimberley.
No man dug fortune, only misconception and silence.
Her predecessors left her no gold to kick the dust off.
They only left deprivation and separation
she had children who truly loved her they all have abandoned her.
They all scattered in homes of different notions.
Some lost the native tongue
Some sought for knowledge a cure for the depression
The rest seek and extol gold day and night.
The breadwinners are ineffectual and fragile.
The ground has dried like the corn they desperately after.
Some harvest in ties while others eat with scavengers.
vultures camouflage themselves, the sun is bright outside.
Sheep's have hidden fangs that appear sometimes.
She was once a pillar of nations
A driving force, with a tale that was longer than Danyang–Kunshan Grand.
Tale became shorter due to sickness.

For years I thought I was the man because of my independence
uncanny work ethic
and my wit..
For years I thought that it would be me and only me for the rest of my life...
It is amazing how in one breath everything changes,
everything becomes clear and a bit more complicated....
I welcome my new family with open arms and promise a life of prosperity,
monogamy,
and every ounce of love I have to give...
She is the love of my life,
the bearer of my child,
my boo!!!
It feels good to finally have the ability to share this with the world....
Now,
I am not "the man" but her man
and can only hope that I can give her the love she deserves,
the life we both yearn for....
I love you Kimberley Collison,
the gift you are carrying is by far the best I have ever been privy to....

A stone so beautiful
The gem of gems
This carbon icon
A girls best friend
In many a place mined
All legal and right
To be marketable
To be pretty in sight
On our Jewellery do we wonder
Where ours come from
Is this splendid stone
From a war torn wrong
Most are credited
From a reliable source
But when it comes to money
Many mined by force
The Kimberley Process was put in place
To audit diamonds, and to trace
As for the many souls, who lose their lives
What a price to pay, for Blood Diamonds
