You are not a member of our family
Therefore we choose to lock you outside our door
Banishishing you to never
Never again darken our door
Your emaciated hands have lost their strength
The whispers you shout have fallen on deaf ears
We have always been stonger than you
Within your grip we have discovered our own resilience
Losing our appetite for your false promises
This pathway emerges beyond your darkness
Time deafens us to your whispers
For long enough we have been your domino effect
Feel our weight as we align ourselves against you
Our borders have been fortified
Consciencely built brick by brick
The mortar of our love extricating you from our spaces
Our new mosaic formed in light
New possibilities
Today is the beginning of this
This power
This life
This realization
That as you shrink
Our world enlarges
Until you are less
Less than nothing
Replaced by freedom
The way we are meant to be
Empowered and filled
With an appetite for living
My wife is the team leader for an eating disorder program here in Kelowna.
I wrote this as a way to empower families to align together against the disorder.

It's okay now, for women to go topless
Oh my how the world it has changed
Some boobies are perky others floppy
With the help of gravity some rearranged
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining
The female form is a delightful sight
Yet sometimes I need to shield my eyes
Those white boobies are awfully bright
Us male drivers, completly distracted
Concerned for safety we have all slowed down
Many come from all over in hopes of a peek
They say kelowna is their kind of town
Please forgive us we don't mean to stare
It's just our way of showing support
When it comes to rights we'll gladly take part
We would have fought to free boobies in court
So ladies I say walk around with pride
You are an inspiration to everyone
Be careful to apply a whole lot of lotion
You don't want them beauties burnt by the sun
In sunny Kelowna it is now legal for a woman to walk
topless down a public street. Sadly no women
have opted to take advantage of this new found freedom.

I woke up at five just as my mind struck midnight
Tick tocks delayed by lack of slumber
Maniacal sheep crowding my mind
Grinning their sheepish grins
Taunting me
Ba ba
The black sheep calls
"We are too many to number"
I rise from my cushioned prison
Down filled promises not kept
So alluring
Soft luxurious
Beckoning
"come back to bed"
I drag myself
heavy feet
Shuffling
Eyes partially closed
Opening the shower door
Artificial rain
Wishing to wash sleep down the drain
Wanting my hours and minutes returned to me
I close my eyes
For just a moment
Sleep
glorious sleep
Where art thou

I have so much to do
I can't get it all done
To many balls in the air
I can't juggle every one
I am sure you've heard of me
The guy who dropped the ball
Now here I am
Knocking my head against the wall
They say that nice guys
Always finish last
It seems that's the case
I'm getting there fast
Just one more job
Added to my plate
Now I'm in trouble
You're out on your date
In the end I'm fired
I think that's okay
Your turn to work
My time to play
Disclaimer: don't send donations, still happily working here in Kelowna. I am however considering setting up a holiday fund if you wish to contribute to that:))
