This Is Who I Am

Xxxxxxx
Husband, son, father, friend
Mary's sweetie, Matthew's dad, Edith's son, brother to Teresa and Roy
Lover of family, friends and time alone
Who feels passion, joy and doubt
Who fears rejection, being forgotten and failure
Who would like to see Paris, Greece and the face of my Savior
Resident of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
Xxxxxxxxx

Xxxxxxx
Proud, deceitful, lustful, liar
holder of grudges, occupier of dark thoughts
Competitive to a fault, craver of things material
Temptations target
Who feels torn in two
Who fears his darker instincts
Resident and member of humanity

I would hope the first part is more accurate but there is a grain of truth to the second part as well.

Thanks Red, I tried to add some edge to this piece and have people consider the duality of being human. The good thing about free choice is we can nurture the better parts of our nature.

Hi Richard...you present us with a double image; the first is the Richard I know, the second is what Richard would not like to be. None of us are perfect; I too have had my imperfections, most of which I have managed to control and even eradicate as I get older. // I too did like Heather and looked up your area...and yes, it is beautiful, while your reference to Tuscany is true. Have a nice Sunday. // paul

All of us have a duality and the nature we choose to feed will be what is ultimately revealed. My baser nature informs me less if I stay connected to my Savior's heart. Still I must acknowledge it so that it does not hold me within it's grip. The knowledge and experience of the other self provides the empathy to understand my brothers struggles.

Damn Richard, you covered day and night so marvelously in this poem. The transition to your other face was so unanticipated and convincing therefore. Bold expression of duality, what an uppercut that dark side is, I admire how you make dark honesty a virtue my friend. Poigyant reference to your Savior as well...cool how you incorporated your full name in the verses. J.A.B.

Lovely to learn more about you, Richard! I would also like to see Greece, especially the Acropolis in Athens. But first I want to see the rest of Canada, especially BC, since I have never been out West! Take care.

I live in Kelowna which is located on Lake Okanagan in the heart of wine country. When we were in Tuscany I was amazed at the similarities. Google Mission Hill Winery, it is one of the most beautiful Wineries in the world. We also have a resort called Sparkling Hill wich was developed by Shirofski Crystal which is just outside of Kelowna.

How wonderful to know a little better my friend Richard! Certain it is that the face of our savior you will see and maybe if you come to Greece you see mine as well since we did not meet when I was living in Canada, Montreal! Do not worry about failure for already you have succeeded in having a son and a wife to adore you and so many friends! God bless you!

Thanks Demetrios, fear of failure has been a positive thing for it has pushed me to succeed. I do also appreciate the people God has blessed me with. Should I be fortunate to make my way to your country I would be honored to make your aquantance in person. Blessings to you as well.
