It was not my plan to be here.
I was drawn hither by cold beer
Thither, Hell’s heat too stiff to bear
Nor should I to it flesh spare…
And, now, everywhere noise is near.
You know I don’t drink and keep fear
Noise, next full storm and life is dear.
So leave I should: try some calm rear
What do I say: came to quaff beer
Just met knife, sword, javelin and spear
And before I could quit blood-smear?

In his heart was an intense glow
After his seeming superb show:
An unsurpassed Philistine Throw
Until whistled “A Disallowing No”
That nearly javelin blood flow
Stopped from his head to toe
And a seizure wired like a blow …
Clear that a bank account won’t grow,
A once hot spirit is icy snow;
For all this rousing with the cock’s crow!
Now a bow is sick and tired of an arrow,
A once healthy Toyota awaiting a tow.

THE
END
Amidst the pulsating tumult of the End
She sits …... calm ..… gentle ….. still
Like the silent heart of the violent
Storm that rages around her;
A disembodied rose petal,
Settled on the thorns.
My heart is pierced
by a javelin of
tranquillity.
The End

Give me a javelin, a fork and a spear
Why do you need to know?
Just come closer, my little dear.
Close enough to throw….

Had a thought a moment ago, just before I broke your aura'd wing,
trapped here, forever, within Audouin's vast crater alone and pining.
Starved for ages, a new gnawing hunger'd vision looked to bring.,
had we met, you and I, before the javelin started skyward climbing?
Though skin is rough and jagged as scoria litter that surrounded,
there beats a heart recognized by all the vanquished ghosts of Mars.
Was this love, don't know..,tho' never felt quite so astounded.
Perhaps startled to realize, it was I..,snared by her eyes in fawning stars.
Pitiful, mortal creatures molded by divine hands such as we,
learn only now, the cosmos proves bearable only through love.
And so I'll starve tonight, and tomorrow, and perhaps forever be.,
though joyous still..,no longer alone, or taunted by constellations above.
At last you take wing again, watch you soar away into the starlit night,
this day found love to save, and let your spirit go in merciful flight.

From prehistoric stone there was sharpened a point then a spike:
chiselled and engraved and hoisted and thrust,
raised high above men toward a target lofty, afar in a field.
Competitors rose from primordial waters,
harpooning dreams and dripping ambition,
tired and bruised but practiced and hopeful.
Javelin was once rock was once bone was once wood
is now painted is now plastic - from caveman to athlete
from mammoth beater to medal winner.
From grey pebble there became arrow,
from misstep there became podium
and a golden first-place pedestal.

What charms your whim, your fun,
Each day when you’re alone?
The things you ponder and get up to,
That’s not on the telephone.
Maybe you like duct tape art or
Collecting tea bag cloaks,
Or going around javelin catching with
Other javelin catching folks.
Maybe you carve egg shells,
Into beautiful greens and blues,
Or maybe you like to appear behind
Reporters when they’re on the news.
Are you the person that likes to moo
Convinced that you’re a cow?
Or are you the person that wants to be a cat
That loves to go meow?
I’d like to get together one day
And admire this theatrical poster,
And you could sit beside me, holding my hand,
Enjoying life’s roller coaster.
