From the point of view of someone who’s gone through war,
Believe me when I say that no one ever wins.
Death is death and no matter which side you fight for,
The sights and sounds will tear you apart from within.
No one should ever have to see the gruesome gore
That comes from anger, hate, and ignorance.
Peace, in the end, is what we should always strive for.
Violence will not solve any indifference.

To justify the same action for which we grieve.
All life is precious and should never be abused
To exact revenge on those who do not believe.

Gently a flake fell past a window, the sign
of winter, but the flake was made of soot
yet was as perfect as one made of snow.
Snow has not fallen here for years, deadly
crystal, blood diamonds, yet of icy resolve
to eradicate us by volume and greed.
Flakes of soot, false snow made ideal by
a fake interpreter giving meaningless lift
to pompous speeches and sham grief.

It was written in languages long dead
In the manner and idiom of the time
To interpret the Bible the Bible
It is not only necessary to understand the languages in which the Bible was written
But to understand the languages in which the Bible was written
Had the time they were written
The Bible, Therefore has to be understood
And for Catholics, the Church
Guided by the Holy Spirit
