Ingrate by Adejola Joseph
Ingratitude of an ignorant
A daylight robber and abuser of opportunities
An ingrate is a time waster
A simple murderer
He doesn't appreciate
And when he does it is flattery
Helping an ingrate is like pouring water in the basket.
Ingrate.

I feel so sad to be a child of my home
It sounds ungrateful when moaning on a throne
but I reallly am trapped in a heaven I don't belong
I can' t control it. sadness floods but I missed the ark
I am struggling to breath even where the air is so clean
I am starving even when my stomach is full to a fault
I am dying to live, really there is no way home
I am stuck in a paradise for everyone but my soul
Land of milk and honey but I am allergic to both
I just want to be on my own
Inspire myself, learn and grow
relearn romance and be proud of the life I chose
Be who I am without angels on my door
I feel so sad I am tired and worn.
It is so sad to be a 30 year old boy living at home

The pains I feel in my heart
The pains I feel in my bone marrows
strikes me everyday
I spent a lot of time,
energy
money and passion on you
But all you paid me with was regrets, hate and evil
I invested a lot in you
I gave you all I could
You were never grateful
One day I met you on the street
I asked a simple question,
''Why do you reject all my calls''
You looked at me straight in the eyes
You told me ''I worth nothing to you''
You are such an ingrate
I invested a lot in your education
I sacrificed a lot for you
this is what you pay me back with.
Well, in all I forgive you.

Work from home, for all I care
May I do the same, if that's fair?
The new order demands connectivity
The old required face to face objectivity
Efficiency, I seek to communicate
Don't ever pontificate
I am in a deep state
A state of knowing your unbelieving fate
I am at risk of losing faith in Him alone
Becoming of the ingrates, a clone
This is a time to grow some more
Allowing the word to come to the fore

ghastly gluttony
one of seven deadly sins
with appalling good reasons
total self disrespect
abusing one's own body
that wonderful mechanism
no remorse no thought
millions starving and dying
balancing haves and have nots

An ugly contraption, but you didn’t mind ; a temporary solution of the permanent kind. It served you well in those hard years when you were most unwell, when you needed utility more than beauty, economies more than luxury, and loyalty more than the flattery of perfumed orators.
But now that the barren desert has been crossed, and new shiny things vie to seduce and usurp, will you forget your roots and the old that gave you fruit? Will you join the vast ranks of rakish ingrates, or will you prove loyal and true, and hold onto the hand of a wilting friend?

“SOUL INGRAIT”
Look where you have ended up.
A place so filthy and lonely;
us
to dissever.
Converse to interrupt
Mutated to plastic;
so fake, so phony,
When will enough be enough?
Unrecognizable, no cognition
Insensible & dishonor,
needing to comprehend
How you are; truly desolate and lost.
I abdicate on reaching what once was you.
The reflection,
an aberration of hopes and dreams
Obduracy to rescue;
clairvoyant and blind.
Avoiding all honesty
Masking all that dirt
filling up inside.
