The world is weary,
weary of the fear but
afraid for the future.
Political campaigns
ugly and growing uglier,
airwaves choked with
insults and outright lies.
Hate thrives and turns
friend against friend.
The Covid pandemic lurks
in wait outside our doorstep,
invisible, threatening health
and possible death.
Masked people shy away
from one another in stores.
People isolated and lonely,
visitors often limited for seniors.
for many, one bleak day
passes blindly into another.
The only recourse
from television news
strangled by political infighting -
The Animal Planet,
The Great British Baking Show,
old movies, perhaps a Zoom meeting.
The world is weary, but
this, too, shall pass and
become part of our history,
and we will survive with the
hope of creating a better world.
Just hang in there.

Out with infighting and lack of general respect,
Let’s restore our Congressional reputation
Rank partisanship and grandstanding
While padding their own coffers, I expect!
Let’s rid ourselves of all the current trolls
“Let’s throw the bums out,” it has been said,
Not a one of them worth saving, I suspect.
Better off with zombies at the controls.
Let’s start by ditching Mitch; Pelosi, too,
Right down to the bottom of the barrel
Grifters, the shysters, and arrogant fools
Send McCarthy and Schumer to Timbuktu.
Greene, and Gaetz, and dummy Gohmert
Publicity hounds and holier-than-thous
Let’s start with a clean slate this year
Out with Cruz, Cotton, and Lauren Boebert.
Repubs and Dems—all those fat cats alike,
We need to start with a clean slate now
Hire those who will make government run
Let’s tell Madison Cawthorn to take a hike.
All of them! – I’ve just named a very few
But I can’t think of a single one I’d keep,
Clear out the entire House and the Senate
We need to clean up this despicable zoo!

Christ prayed His disciples all would be one;
in the garden, He prayed God's will be done.
Christ prayed for us to live in unity;
on the cross, He prayed for community.
From heav'n, still He sees all from God's right hand
At the throne He still prays for ev'ry man.
His heart repeats, "Forgiven! Sin no more."
Our spirits joined, love opens wide the door.

One of my favorite passages (John 17) is where Jesus prayed. He even included those who will believe because of the work of the disciples sharing the gospel. His prayer for unity compels us deeply to put the riots and infighting to rest although injustice has been done.

A ghost began whispering inside the soul's echo
there one Trojan horse enters defeated
spiritually the battle ground stands firmly fixed
against those whom denounce the King
misery will follow with disastrous events
Where human rights are exploited through chaos
quarrelsome beggars deny the basic truth to explain
Backfiring liars have a burning desire to bring conflict
Unequally self ordained gods of little value without hope
they try to influence the battle results
ignoring this backward omen leading to terrible infighting
warfare has the mentality that's deeply incorporated this motivating force
where sorrow beats down by force the anger deeply within us
.
Now I shall go, to overtake that killer of a dear life
into one's conscious self
our mortal undying glory rises or falls
quick to the mark snaps the rawhide strap

confined within the only light
the crushing dark surrounding
we hold together for the best
corruptions cries are sounding
behold compounded human might
untiring in our righteous fight
confined within the growing light
confined within the growing light
holding firm and strong
we find in others strengths and faults
and things for which we long
entropy comes to ordered minds
who shall learn to fear night
confined within the shrinking light
confined within the shrinking light
relations fall apart at last
infighting breeds contempt and fear
our minds have left the murdered past
left to our corrupt devices
the futures left dead, bleak, and stark
engulfed forever in the dark
