Christ prayed His disciples all would be one;
in the garden, He prayed God's will be done.
Christ prayed for us to live in unity;
on the cross, He prayed for community.
From heav'n, still He sees all from God's right hand
At the throne He still prays for ev'ry man.
His heart repeats, "Forgiven! Sin no more."
Our spirits joined, love opens wide the door.

One of my favorite passages (John 17) is where Jesus prayed. He even included those who will believe because of the work of the disciples sharing the gospel. His prayer for unity compels us deeply to put the riots and infighting to rest although injustice has been done.
