Premium MemberThe valley expresses

The valley

With its flatness

A space between

Abrupt enclosures..

An appearance of

Time and space and

A viewer which all

Seem separate..this

Illusion expressing

A calm beyond

Understanding...

Premium MemberA mirror's image

My mirror image is a lie -it only tells me of my beautiful outward appearance and hides all my inner ugliness

Struggling With Life

By now my perception,
so naive and derisive
going beyond intention,
should have changed;
blemishes spoil this appearance,
they are worse than any word said
to hurt and humiliate with vengeance:
sling no stones, no threats to shield!

I got through many hurdles,
they posed hard challenges...
and struggling with life I can say,
" I'm prouder than anybody. "
What held me back was constant fear:
how painful was to see all disappear!

I looked up and saw the grayest clouds,
soon it would be raining for eternal, dreary hours;
much sadness they brought with their darkness:
I couldn't find shelter into anybody's arms!

Struggling with life is wrestling with God,
it's the hardest fight ever fought;
nobody wins and we surely resent defeat:
we blame fate and cry out loud...
not appreciating what we have freely received,
and shunning what's good, we embrace deceit!

Alter Image

There it is -
                  a giant lizard
or is it only
the image of his scrawny neck
with its large bobbing apple
                that has misled me?
Yes,
folks can be cruel about appearance,
he might be beautiful on the inside,
but his skin! His eyes
      are really black and glassy
and they bulge!

I suspect he actually is
an alien lizard being
      he's testing me
making me judge him.

One more
reptilian alien interloper
        sent to this planet,
their mission:
just to make me look bad,

      but I already look bad.

Premium MemberCoexistence

city of increasing fervor
heavy with sealed glass windows
in vaulted towers
sky-high protection
from the steady spew of cars
urban sidewalks in the
private grayness of fall
where sparrows
in a small
rush of flutter
(like a jailbreak)
peck at specks of
discarded rice
paths of commonality
in people spaces of
rapid trudging
that re-jigs
cellphone foot work
a jump at impulse

birds of an all forgiving grace
hop on concrete
beyond appearance
messy
to seize
the refuge of home

Premium MemberThe Line of Light

The Line

Of light

Is neutral

And free..yet

Seeming to vary

One way and

Another..

The seeming is

The appearance

Of everything

As the line

Remains

Neutral and free

In this

Brief story...

Premium MemberA New Image, An Old Heart

A new image
For first impression
An advertisement
For sale promotion
Various lens and mirrors
For real, virtual, strange images
But for man
No matter how modified the appearance
The heart remains the same

Premium MemberNot So Obvious

Not So Obvious

It is obvious that I am a man
less obvious that I am married
with children.
You may judge my appearance
try to interpret my actions
in a vain attempt
to view my world
through your eyes.
I would not recommend it!
As these eyes have seen too much
of this world
of its beauty and ugliness
its joy and meanness
shed too many tears of Joy
and also of sorrow
wept in the empty silence
of contemplation.

You would judge the book of my life
by its tattered flannel cover
mock the yellowing of its aged pages
shun the folded edges of creased moments
refuse the gifts I hold for you.

What appears obvious
is that you are oblivious
to the truth in my eyes,
the love in my heart,
the touch of my spirit,
for within the covers
within the bindings of this book
lie the secrets of a life
the loves of a heart
and a knowledge
forged in the fire
of experience.

Premium MemberPoolside Reverie

i remember
being by the pool
i was no more than ten
my grandmother
was enjoying herself
chatting and laughing
suddenly
i caught
myself thinking

it will be nice
to get to that age
and not care
what my body
looks like

what !

even at that age
i knew
there was something
wrong

they had gotten
to me

i was already
brainwashed

Premium MemberDo You Like What You See In the Mirror

Are you happy with the face you were born with
Do you cringe at your sordid reflection
Take heart my dear friend, could be a lot worse
We all have minor imperfections

There are some of us with big oversized honkers
And some have these sticky out ears
Eyes that are crossed and foul smelling breath
Who haven't had friends in years

People often say “we'll call you next week”
But next week never seems to get here
Could it be they're just trying hard to avoid me
With my belly that's seen too much beer

But the bottom line is we are all quite unique
No one has a claim on perfection
We don't have a choice with how we turn out
It's totally about natural selection

So now I feel better bout my funny appearance
No more need to cover it with a beard
Had this face fuzz since nineteen sixty-two
Without it would feel a bit weird

Premium MemberFacade

What's behind your well groomed facial hair
Pretend not to have a single care
Whiskers that hide scars
Moustache handlebars
Detours to avoid the barber's chair

The Mirror

The reflection of myself in a mirror
Is only the opposite of what people see.
A photograph, on the other hand, is right-side forward.
But a mirror and a photograph only show a flat picture,
And all I know about the way I look is what I can imagine.
Even a sculpture could not show me the image of myself.
All the art and all the music and all the poetry that ever was
Do not depict my appearance to me.
All the words you tell me never do enlighten me.
I am not a dove.
I am not a frog.
I am not a crow.
I am not an inchworm.
I am a human being.
But how do I look?
All the words you tell me never do make me see,
But I am satisfied when you are in the mirror next to me.

Image Altering Reality

The wrath that they have for me and
The envy they have for my dreams,
Man so much emotions they hating but
For fish: i walk on water,
For the hill: i climb my way to the top,
Rubber girls and metal men!
Im a wooden boy from deep in forests
An outcast so i was Raised by wolves:
I sold hell to angels and Heaven to demons,
The leftovers i gave to mortals
Deep in the black market:
Giving out knowledge;
Watching out for the feds
I don't wanna go to jail,
But for what i believe in
They can lock up me for a thousand years.

Hanging in the corners
Those pyramids for G's
G be Genius- Geniuses be the greatest,
Looking for formulas to conduct my new experiments:
Point of interest be dull in appearance
That's the difference
between the top and the bottom,
What's above is not below:
that's just the law of oneness so i'm not duplicating,
One be all- all be the mass
Mass be the people- the people be the masses.

Escalating, moving forward
Rushes and blame me inches
Damn be ruin my phase,
That's more calculating
Aeons to the modern day:
In the 1000th day i shall rule-
Giving code of ethics to individuals
So they too can enjoy the feast.

Premium MemberA Perspective of Time

A PERSPECTIVE OF TIME AND WHAT I SEE,
TAKE A MOMENT AND SPEND TIME WITH ME.
I FOUND MYSELF ON A MOUNTAIN TOP,
VIEWING THE WORLD AS A LIVING CLOCK.
WITH TIME BEFORE ME AND ALL AROUND,
MY FEET ARE PLANTED ON THE GROUND.
THE CLOUDS MOVED IN AND IT STARTED TO RAIN.
TIME KEEPS MOVING AND IT'S NEVER THE SAME.
THE SUN CAME UP AND WARMED THE DAY.
TIME WAS SMILING AS IT CAME MY WAY.
THE MOON MADE APPEARANCE AS THE SUN START TO SET.
TIME WAS STILL STIRRING AND THE GROUND WAS STILL WET.
THE STARS CAME OUT STARTED DANCING AROUND.
TIME HAD NOTICED I WAS STILL ON THE GROUND.
IN TIME ON TIME I'LL FLY AWAY.
TAKE TIME BY THE HAND THAT WAY I CAN STAY.
A PERSPECTIVE OF TIME OF WHAT WE SEE.
THANK YOU FOR SPENDING YOUR TIME WITH ME.

Expandable Thoughts

" Off to the beyond "

Expandable thoughts fit on a plane
With only the surface scratched
In an inner circle of the atomic blast
Play chess in the dark with intuition
Fixed in space where children play
Between the lines of reason frayed at the edge
Elegant yet fractured
They go farther if you sleep on them
And never betray the friendly
Touch the soul with levity
Elevated at their best when resting
Expandable thoughts rest in a box
With the appearance of dark filled with light
Have a good night when laughing
