How can one recant a kiss,
Or disignite a spark?
One might as well unhook the stars
And stumble in the dark.
T would be ill-favored to withdraw
So grand a thing as this,
Let passion play without regard
And forever hold, the kiss.
For years, his inner craving,
Had been punctuated with excuse,
And resentment,
Had become a full time resident
In his thoughts;
Years had given him to grope
Like an ill-favored recluse,
left to flounder through life
With thoughts pondering one thing;
The years he thought were his
Had long been purloined,
By inattention and neglect;
His good years, now so distant,
His only sighting was through a haze.
Any despondent feelings for self
He knew altered naught,
For yesterday's are unforgiving,
And time, has no friends.
Speak to me, not of weather
Speak to me, not of events
Speak only of us, my dear one
For which our tongues were meant
Look at me not ill favored
Look at me not with disgust
Look at me only, my dear one
As our gazes were meant just for us
Touch me not, out of worry
Touch me not, just to shove
Touch me only, my dear one
To express our heart felt true love
So when alone, my lovely
As dreams come pounding through
Dream of me, my dear one
As I shall be dreaming of you
