'Topical Tree Poetry: Defined:'
A new form of poetry invented by me, (Mick E Talbot), utilising, the 'shape' poetry format overall. Using the 'snowball' poetry form for the trunk, and any form that makes for a good canopy. The subject material must be "topical", ie, trending, current, historical, events.

The format: The canopy; any form of poetry, 1 stanza, no restraint on the number of lines. Lines not to exceed 12 syllables.
The 'trunk'; a form referred to as a snowball. It starts with the smallest word alluding to the topic, then using synonyms increase in size by 1* letter, ending in an antonym, refer to my example poem. The whole must be centered.

* Try to make the trunk branchless, the odd knobbly bump or hole not a problem. (The latter will happen at times). You can by hitting the space bar make the branch/es, hole/s appear on one side of the trunk, Or the other, just an afterthought ;-) Mick

Idolization Towards the One You Want

Idolization towards the one you Want
I can feel the wave of emotions flowing
A heart stained by fantasies trying to manifest
All the joy I’ve known all my life, I want you to be a part of it
To have you in my arms is all I need now
Do you know, you are my favorite person
Do you know what you’re doing to me
I’m trapped in a daydream, visions of you and I
I know this is lust but I want it to be so much more
I need it to be love
To be like a romance with a happy ending
You are the woman I idolize
So ambitious, so intellectual, makes me red like roses
Do you know you’re walking on sexual appeal
Filling my head becoming an addiction
Would you listen to the words I need to say
This embarrassment, me turning into a stricken fool
Must I come reformed to achieve the attention I desire
I want to make beautiful memories, to fill the space between us
I need something precious like everyone else
It feels like an infliction, the desperation
But I know it’s my problem
Congesting, conflicting, so dumb, so cold, so cruel
See through these brown eyes and see what the heart wants figure out its intentions
It’s all for you

Power Versus Sanity

Literally lying to millions just prove a point
We can’t conceive of victory unless we have someone to anoint

The idolization of mythic heroes is a constant story
We can all take part of this myth and receive the glory

For better or for worse we are humans
We choose to feel better than every other, banking on our base demand!

We can’t all be right, surge of the insane
We are inconsistent creatures just trying to stay sane

This is the human race, take it or leave it
We fight hard, reasonable or not, it’s win or quit

Premium MemberFacades of Honor

When men become idols
For coaching winning teams,
We shroud them in cloaks of integrity
Or so, at times, it seems

We erect facades of honor
Feeling that they can do no wrong
And they start to believe in this themselves
When the idolization goes on too long

When the facades start to crack
As facades are apt to do
We are shocked when their mortality
Through the cloak starts to shine through

Worshippers will stoop to any means
To get their hero off the hook
Making out the idol as the victim
While the real victims get overlooked

And those who deserve our sympathy
Continue to suffer in their private hell
Being made to feel like blasphemers
For the story they tried to tell

Idolization In Death

When one is alive all his/her faults are apparent,
Their presence is rarely appreciated,
Folks spend time with them, killing hours,
All their shortcomings are highlighted,
and blown out of proportion,
As soon as they depart from this life,
Their name is held in high regard,
Their popularity subject to distortion,
Every memory is precious and sentimental,
All the negatives are suddenly forgotten,
Idolization begins........,
Every word, action or deed is memorialized
forever, even the naysayers come forth with
fondness,
In death, one is raised above reproach.....

Lessons of Love Part 1

Longing for love is like hoping for rain in a recurring drought.

Tis the reason most people never choose love over doubt.

Whats that about?

Whats life without oxygen to breathe or blood to bleed?

What would fish be without water?

What would birds be without trees?

For most love is a want, but understand that love is one of those needful things.

Like winter to snow and flowers to spring.

Yet we search for a particular love.

Thats the selfish ways of our being.

But love is everywhere.

In our departures and in our greetings.

I wish I had the anecdote.

I wish there was fire and no smoke.

But love is complicated.

And often leaves us devastated.

The reasons behind love's torment is simple.

Because idolization is a sin.

We worship it like it rules the world.

Even love has an end.

Thats why we treat it like a trend.

Here today, gone tomorrow.

Like friends.

So I made amends.

I told my heart and soul that my mind they must forgive.

Cause Lord forbid.

That love conquers me like poor parenting conquers kids.
