Icicles for Tears

Memories tattoo my brain like an artist
I miss loved ones passed and the last
Time I saw each one is frozen 
Like icicle tears swelling brown eyes

Last time I saw her alive she 
Was full of joy eating favorite foods 
Planning her life despite breast cancer 
Nothing stopped her from dreaming 
Not even death

Final time I

watching her sleep soundly as the sun slowly sets
i wish this impromptu trip's feeling would last forever
in life sometimes, all we get is what we get

watching the small waves try to decide whether or not to crash
i take in what will, in the future, be

       Drops of water fall
from melting winter sculptures
     reflect spring sunrise

The Icicles Dripping

I’m watching the icicles dripping,
Reminded of ten years ago,
When I held up my grandson to watch them,
All the things then that I couldn’t know.

How he’d soak up so much he was learning
And prove to be clever and smart;
How his joy in our moments together 
Would tattoo him right onto my heart.

How he’d love to hear

Iridescent Icicles

It’s cold
It snowed
I shivered
I shoveled
A Solstice sun
Silently smirked
Iridescent icicles
Licked their lips
A crunch of crusted snow
Battled the scritch of shovels
Headless snowmen
Wandered in wonder
I shoveled
I shivered
It snowed
It’s cold

Shimmering diamonds slowly melting under sun's rays

Icicles

Frosted icicles
in straight silver symmetry...
sterling sentinels...

icicles on gutters

icicles on gutters

glisten in light
of early morning

reflections of sun
when sitting alone
my dreams of spring

Icicles

Drip drip go the icicles,
Hanging from the frozen gutter,
Plinking off the bicycles,
Falling with a splutter.

Blip blip go the icicles,
Dripping from their glassy towers,
Twinkling in their endless cycles,
Melting in icy showers.

Crik crik go the icicles,
Freezing in the darkened hours, 
Growing beards in icy cycles,
Til come the springtime flowers.

Warmer breezes melting snow,
‘Way goes winter’s chilly freeze,
Dripping go
