Satan’s dealing with King David
Would have God made livid
And then came Ruling David’s ‘Sorry’
That God gave back His Glory
And a bit pleasant The Gory,
Hittite quit in a hurry.
Satan still spared David not
And king scored another Naught:
Famished Bread of Presence ate;
What then could determine Fate.
Goliath’s Sword he’d criticized
He later romanticized
“There is none like it”
Just, to escape King Saul’s pit
Saul’s Doeg The Edomite
To whom his life matched a mite…
Not long would count Whole Israel,
Even as Joab tried to rail;
Did not forget Shimei’s curse:
Solomon should his life pause!

Ramesses rules with an iron hand
a god beneath a blistering sky
Hittite chaff fell, he took their land
beneath his chariots wheels they die.
Hundreds were herded slaves all
to serve at the pleasure of the King
man or beast he claimed by might
and for his pleasure they did brawl,
chained, and claimed, few surviving.
He build his cities beneath death's pall.
Worshiped was he in temples true
his semblance graces Abu Simbel
with eyes wide o'er a lake so blue
his gaze belays the infidels.
Beside him she, Queen Nefertari
laid claim to a sacred place
held above all others was his wife
most renowned for her beauty
a love to last through time and space
may all true hearts pay such tariff.

Uriah's bowels unraveled in the sand.
He thanked God for the gift of dying for
King David, who was master of the man.
Those Hittites never seemed to know the score.
Bathsheba was the prize that David sought,
Uriah inadvertently occluding
His royal lust, so winkling out a thought,
King David killed her husband by colluding
With his generals to make the Hittite die.
Afoam with sweat, Bathsheba grinds the King
Indecently. Beneath a yawning sky,
Uriah's writhing in the sand and gasping,
Holding his ****ing kidney in his hand.
I've never felt more sorry for a man.

“…and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam
and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” 2 Sam 11:3 NIV
David’s sins misinterpreted
The character of God.
For his sins towards Bathsheba
Dishonored his precious Lord.
But when the prophet, Nathan
Was called by God to give reproof,
David repented with deep sorrow;
His remorse no longer aloof.
God exalted David—
This one time shepherd boy;
Made him ruler over Israel ,
With a great army to deploy.
David surrendered to adultery;
Desired another man’s wife.
When she was found to be pregnant,
Sent her husband into his battle for life.
Uriah, Bathsheba’s husband
Was killed, as David had intended.
David greatly loved Bathsheba;
His palace to her he extended.
When David realized his sin,
Conveyed to him by Nathan,
He begged God’s forgiveness
For the sins of a complete pagan.
All sin misinterprets
The character of God above.
For his character is his law,
Based upon his awesome love.
So when we yield to temptation,
We glorify the evil one;
Misinterpret God’s character
And deny the great sacrifice of his Son.

No raised pinnacle marked the place
No pure white limestone shining
Where Ramesses slept looked commonplace
to foil the robbers scrying.
Yet he had moved the earth and sky
this pharaoh disdained all rivals.
His bounty buried beneath the sand
portrayed a life beneath blue skies
his star encrusted tomb ethereal
his Ka rising from Death’s hand.
The hills of Thebes his place of rest
and beneath him his father lay
amongst the great he’d be the highest
his battle standards on display.
He ruled with iron hand on staff
as a Godhead he was portrayed.
Most mighty and acclaimed, no man
was he, who felled the Hittite chaff;
beneath his chariots wheels flayed
the denizens of Egypt’s land.
Worshiped was he in temples true
his semblance graces Abu Simbel
with eyes wide o’er lake so blue
