Jesus our joy
spring within
that needs
no refill
This holiday season
a multitude of gifts
is not what I am craving
This Christmas my desire
is for the luxury of peace
of warmth and time
I know I'm asking for a lot
but I pledge to do my best
to truly make it happen
AP: Honorable Mention 2025
Memories of family come back to me in droves
when the holiday season rolls around.
It's the simplest things of warmth
and togetherness that bring a smile
and flood my heart with cheer.

red is my color
I am a fun winter bird~
call me cardinal
Life can be challenging for a Douglas fir,
especially one who lives on a tree farm.
I’m surrounded by Grand firs and Balsams,
who, unlike me, can support heavy ornaments.
They sneer at me and chant “light weight!”
I see a little lady talking to the farm owner.
She comes straight~~Oh, she’s talking to me!
She wants a lovely, light-green, fragrant tree
for her huge collection of light-weight ornaments.
This is going to be a great Christmas for us.
My love, it looks like summer days with a bit of shade.
Singing birds dancing upon your grace
Rainbows are crying at the beauty that you paint
An everyday Christmas when you're awake
You are a gift to me
Cherishing how your hand sparkles
Feet smoother than any babies
Sweet Carmel skin
My love looks like winter but is always sunny
Never below seventy degrees
Lioness bowing down to royalty
You are powerful
Understand your force
Control the wind on this earth
Is that you, Isis?

Why can’t it be Christmas every day
With lights that cheer and cards that say
I love you and I hold you dear
Why can’t it be Christmas all the year
Each night could be a Silent Night
In quiet peace, no guns in sight
Where Egg Nog pours and ribbons flow
And each kiss steals ‘neath Mistletoe
Oh yes, and all may share the gift
As hunger ceases, sure and swift
And every Carol’s song of love
Is grateful to the star above
Why can’t it be Christmas every day
Perhaps that is too much to say
At least in thought that’s how it starts
Let’s carry Christmas in our hearts
It's that time of year-
Holidays are near!
First will come Thanksgiving Day;
families all meet-
round the table, eat!
Thankfully, join hands and pray.
Then, comes Christmastime!
Happy bells soon chime
welcoming peace and goodwill.
Sharing gifts with love;
thanking God above
for these blessings which fulfill!
Light Some Stripey Candles
Light some stripey candles,
Brew a chocolate hot.
Dress in a festive sweater,
Sit in a cosy spot.
Watch the fire glowing,
Count gifts around the pine.
Admire the sparking baubles,
Take sips of dark mulled wine.
Put on your favourite carols,
Relax as music flows.
Enjoy the calm warmth spreading,
Forget your daily woes.
Enjoy a sense of drifting,
Eyes closed and thoughts sublime.
Let Christmas weave its magic,
And be your happy time.
Happy Days of the year 2023
Song of my lone life to sing in melancholic monotony.
Christmas- meet of Granddaughter this year tuned the song in sweet symphony.
Happiest days of the year resonated in perfect harmony.
Christmas is just like
a handful of Heaven
When love is the meaning
and reason to be
Where peace is united
and happiness rules
And beauty awakens
like lights on a tree
Tinsel and Garland
are angels in waiting
They make what's lovely
just only moreso
And presents are simply
a happy reminder
The gift of forever
with all that we know
Christmas is just like
a handful of Heaven
A taste of the joyous
all wrapped up in fun
Time to remember
that love will abide us
From Christmases past
to when we are one
Christians are happy
That Jesus Christ came on Earth
To save everybody.

Let's greet one another with joyous cheer
This holiday season of vibrant gear!
Let's have good partnership with friends as dear
Midst hearty laughter of jubilant steer!
Let's triumph in kindness over pain's tear
While spreading hopeful bliss beyond our sphere!
Let's share peace-gifts with others, far or near
Along prayer of love and peace, sincere!
Let's all have a merry Christmas so clear
Praising God* Who cares throughout all the year!
*Psalm 150:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
