Birds in Deepa were out as she jumped in Rio Produnova

19 August 2016: For the contest ‘monoku madness' sponsored by John Hamilton.
Note:The line flashed while looking at the video of Deepa’s feat in Women’s double vault in Rio Olympics. Her exclusive Produnova with a front handspring onto the vaulting horse with two front somersaults in air was breathtakingly beautiful. 17 syllables checked via www.howmanysyllables.com.

There was a gymnast,from Biejing
Who tried to perform the handspring
But he took, a nosedive
Knocking over a hive
And ended up,with a bee sting.

The word “love” is so easily thrown around
It starts to get a distorted meaning
To say you "just love that new kitty litter”
Then say you “love me” – it starts to come off as a little demeaning
“Love” shouldn’t be so easy to say
And it shouldn’t be used so very often
When you say you “love” this and then you say you “love” that
Well, the word kind of starts to soften
Based on the words that you have uttered this week
I rank right up there with peanut butter and bacon
You “love” the new toilet seat, the joke you just heard
And the smell of coffee – if I’m not mistaken
You “love” your new shoes, the book that you’re reading
And that gay guy in the office
You “love” sleeping in, getting your fingernails painted
And that singer, whoever “The Boss” is
You “love” the porcelain pig that is our door stop
You “love” the smell of our scented candles
You "love" the funny little mugs that you bought last week
Because they have the cutest little handles
So if I don’t do flips or a handspring or two
When you mention how much I am loved
It’s only because I’m trying to figure out
Where I fit in with those things listed above

Heroes come from all corners of the world
I hadn't thought about that until the 1998 Goodwill Games
Where she got injured and could be paralyzed
Meet my 17 year old little heroine Sang Lan!!
The fact that she's alive is a pretty amazing feat
Because when she overpowered on a front handspring vault
She struck the mat head-first and has a fracture-dislocation injury
Which is where she injured two vertebrae at the base of her neck.
Sang is an amazing young Chinese lady
Who has high spirits despite whatever her condition
She's had plenty of support from people around the world
And she has shown tremendous strength through this ordeal.
China's 1997 national vault champion is hoping
That an experimental nerve-building drug helps her paralysis
And she can do more for herself than the doctors ever thought possible
Because before her surgery she couldn't even sit up and hold her head up.
It looks like her gymnastics career could be over
Unless some kind of miracle takes place
Because she still had no feeling in her hands, wrists, and legs
However she did get some positive news after her surgery.
