A pool shark
Swims with the guppies
Half drowning
Half acting
But full of toy skills at times
He swears he's lucky

Guppies in my garden pond multiplied
Lilies bloomed
Bushy.snow white rose flowered
Berries ripe
Sparrows
Squirrels
Breeze
Every Breeze brings a song
Every song brings a guest
Every guest brings a smile
Every smile spreads light
Light......
One day....

As the yellow-orange sun slowly rises
Memories of your class's fun flood my heart
Thoughts run to your teaching and enterprises
You brought those tiny guppies to our class
A creative shiny diorama's great art
Sunshiny person and dedicated lass
You lifted us up when you said
All the gifted books available we'd outsmart
Sad you to your death drifted from your sickbed

Be kinder to the tree, they say
Don’t poke or prod or cut at it
Don’t try to break its branches
Don’t run up to attack it
Be kinder to the fish, they say
Be gentle with the guppies
If caught just let it swim away
Don’t try and fish for copies
Be kinder to the little guy
Be softer, like a mother
I know you’re meant for it, they say
Helped raise your younger brother
Oh but I won’t, Oh but I can’t
Don’t want to live the horrors
I choose to not participate
To not hand out disorders
Pass down our long-lived misery
Pass down all of our karma
I choose to be a butterfly
Not trapped in my own armor
And now my future is in halves
Two choices on the table
To birth a child, or to not
I choose to not be able

The truth is outdated
Falsehoods inflated
With hyperbole
created…
Fishing poles baited
wriggling worms slated
to reel in us guppies
addlepated…

Who can control the gold guppies the fishwisher did ask.
Merwoman Mamie said she might be up to the task.
She had raised some children – mermaids and mermens.
Pretty soon she had the gold guppies doing tricks in their tins.
She does it so easily, observed a coral reef god named Nom.
Maybe because she already has experience as a fantastic mom.

cat, dog and a red and black bird.
Her pet fetish seemed to some absurd.
She likes the feathers and the fur.
But what about scales? Do they tickle her?
The next week after luncheon, we got an answer to this.
Inside her bathtub was a baby crocodile named Little Miss.
What about fish? Do they put her in the pink?
She had two large guppies living in her wash tub sink.

Their silver nightclub microphones were mega-big, giant size I’d say
Three sensuous singing goldfish stepped up to sing the night away
They started with Chattanooga Choo Choo which always makes me cry
Ending up with a hearts and flower song where some creepy guppies die.

in the spring my river has an unusually active flow
tearing down her channel as if she is racing herself
I stand in the verdant grass with bare toes, watching
marveling at what delights might be hidden in her depths
it is now summer, the river has slowed to a standstill
a large catfish makes a super splash after jumping out of her
I love watching his fierce looking face, he is adorable
thank you for being here for me I tell my river
Oaks and maples turn red, orange and red
It is fall and there are a multitude of leaves on my river
they float uphill, showing me which way she flows
I wave goodbye to them, wondering where she takes them
My river is frozen in January, but probably not solid.
Some walk across to fish, but I stay on the shore, watching.
I know how treacherous and deep she can be.
I imagine the guppies and bass, wondering if they are safe.
I love my river, she is beautiful no matter the season
Whether she is solid or snaking a meandering path
She intrigues me and enthralls me, and I am glad to know her.
I sit on the river bank appreciating her personality.

Yvetta entered the forest quietly, barely making a noise.
She saw some pixies and elves getting out mischievous toys.
They noted her harp and wondered what she was about.
One of them made a tiny squeak, to them, probably a shout.
Yvetta sat down next to a cove on the roots of an oak.
Her melodious harp playing was serious, in no way a joke.
Within a few notes, a catfish swam down to listen.
Water stirred up by guppies, soon began to glisten.
Before the concert was finished she had butterfly and snail.
Hummingbird, frog, opossum and a raccoon with a hurt tail.
Weasel showed up along with a handsome white unicorn.
A snake slithered by asking if they had a French horn.
Turtles and faeries came along with brownies wearing tan.
A fawn showed up with white spots, along with rat from Japan.
Yvetta was thrilled that so many were excited with her sweet harp.
She played wonderful notes said butterfly, none of them sharp.

Such a lively band of vagabonds
Saxophone player, acrobat, chimney sweep
Their music parades into my mind as I fish
Enjoying their rhythm as I enjoy catching guppies
We are in a fantasy world that makes me feel safe
Safer than I have ever felt, as I am a vagabond too
The acrobat and ballerina begin to dance
Shaking our violin just a bit

gray seagulls and dolphins begin jumping and flying around the sea
knowing that soon they will be graced with honor of mysterious she
Sheba appears daily after the clown fish pave the way for her glance.
teensy guppies and turtles are there too, taking an educated chance.
Sheba is the head mermaid of the Mediterranean Sea today.
she listens to conch shells, and she gives the fishes her say.
words of advice they need to stay safe from the sharks and more.
many turtles have swam out here from the far distance shore.

Cascade of colors swirls in a fishy maze,
a tank of topicals swim the watery haze;
as a plastic diver opens his treasure,
what's inside is strictly his pleasure.
Tetra's dream of tasty bites
Swordtails dine to their delight;
albino Catfish sweeps the gravel,
as bright corals do bedazzle.
As bright guppies wiggle, wriggle
and Goldfish's fins flow in a jiggle;
a black Molly races by the snails,
as a tiny crab scurries up the ship's sail.
It's a color-wonderland behind the glass;
flowing in and out of the guppy grass.

In a kingdom full of turkeys
I heard a splendid fluffy ducking
I am just a rabbit hopping
Floating my passions wet and scaly goldfishing
Surrounded by violent guppies
I am just a rabbit hopping
Trap stumbling swatting squirreling
Zipping zapping tails much are marble
As those the silent horned owls hoot-hoot owls laughing
Laughing at me as I hopped
I heard a glancing hanging flopping
I was worn about my stopping
hoppity hop hop I'm hopping
I am just a rabbit hopping

Darkness pours over the horizon,
the sun slips away.
Driven by consuming hunger,
a monstrous beast, lies in wait.
Hooded men in the choir,
weave webs from their lips,
while the hurst creeps by slowly,
in a seemingly endless parade.
On high hills, in colossal mansions,
live the soulless, adorned with magnetic bright eyes.
Veiled under a black blanket,
the soullest consume their prey,
they must feast off the valley,
or starve the beast within.
Hopeless sheep, without a shepherd,
swim like guppies in a bowl,
twisting in turmoil, keeping the beast full.
