Why the translation? Because French is a pretty language.
mon petit chou is a term of endearment “my little cabbage.”
Leaning in—
Listening
To small things,
Big issues.
Work consumes
Your time.
Occasionally,
A buffet
From
My little cabbage.
Small talk,
Big conversation—
About Jesus.

Se penchant—
Écoute
Aux petites choses,
Gros problèmes.
Le travail consomme
Ton temps.
Parfois,
Un buffet
De
Mon petit chou.
Banalités,
Grande conversation—
A propos de Jésus.

Bien ouvert
Amitiés
Bien touché
Entre nous
La force au bout
Coeur grandit
Parmis lui
Gros changement
À tout les croyants
Resté humble
Parmis la vie de la jeungle
Gardé la foie
C'est bien notre choix
Jour après jour
Remplissons l'amour

Beaux petits lapins
Sans chagrins
Bien nourries
Sans ennuies
Bien au chaud
Âmes si gros
Près à partagés
Tu n'a pas changé
Aussi courageuse
Ma belle serveuse
Savoir le bien être
Couvres vos têtes
L'amour de nos jours
Avait besoin de secours
Me prendre par la main
Vos douleurs vous faites fin

Yellow pollen drifts converge,
adorn nude logs in gros point lace;
red veined, orange campfire strings glaze
blue-gray above my lover's face.
I succumb to reflected eyes,
greening hazel like wise old frogs,
feel black water breast swiftly swell
against a quickening white fog.
Swamped, rose-gold tinged moments,
rocking red boat danger portends;
I glimpse distorted, fear-gray image . . .
his eyes foolish and young again.

Not
Enough
Time
To connect
To dissect
The inner dialogue and outer space
Rubbing sticking flesh
That bleeds
That reaps the harvest And
Feeds
The shark
The struggling dolphins killed by unaware tuna fishermen
The hungry caterpillar
The firefly in the jar
Soon someone will catch the butterfly
But
Children get fat
Now
From too much fast food
And not enough exercise
Too much time spent staring at a screen
Gros (fat in French)
Gross
The amount made, but never taken home
Intelligence
Never wasted now
That the chance to share with the world
Exists
Round every corner awaits a new discovery, but there is
Not
Enough
Time
