He schleps constantly at noon
Through declivities and straight roads,
Bearing messages sealed by the hands
That laid them bare in the first place.
Sweat caresses his face, forming one mass of
Earnestness in every breath of delivery.
“Hello,” he says, “your mail. Your package.”
My palm breathes harder, having neared his.
I sign the delivery paper and reach out for the
Package.
He is fussy with time and gets rewarded when
The Christmas bells chime slowly
From wintry belfries posting blandishments of
Yuletide.
Merry Christmas!
A bright coin rolls into his palms and greases them.
He welcomes titbits of news within crimson cards.
His lungs inhale airs of chaperoned champagnes
Amid the voice of canticles, soft and secret.

The United States greases the slippery palm of Iran.
Who frolic in the frying pan with Hamas and Hezbollah.
Whom vow to destroy Israel and the United States of America.
The United States provides Ammo and Camo to Israel.
Who are at war with Hamas and Hezbollah.
This is the reason no country can trust us.
United States foreign policy is really about foreign folly.
The defense contractors and their pals on capitol thrill.
Will make billions and billions off the misery of citizens.
For sake of ratings the media puts coexistence on the spitz.
Scores of dark forces are wishing us, to the brink of oblivion.

For hand cream, one extract is best,
but slow as a snail’s pace to test.
Just go to your garden
and beg for their pardon.
The gastropods? Somewhat depressed…
Rid wrinkles and loose skin with ease;
our essence has sailed the high seas.
If your skin entails
much flapping and flails,
we won’t hang you out in the breeze!
—————
If nothing else, I do amuse myself! Anaya’s comment on Fresh Sea Greases brought out ideas for two more skin care products, based on what was typed (‘sail extract’) and what was likely meant (’snail extract’), lol. There really are hand cremes with snail extract! Snails are gastropods. I haven’t seen any sail extract hand cream, but I haven’t looked that hard either!

There’s a version that comes in an ointment,
but go sparingly on the anointment!
The calamari squid
set you back a few quid.
Ooh, those tentacles - no disappointment!

Aw, C’mon Man
Be honest With Me

“Whatever greases your wagon” is fine with me,
but “don’t bite off more than you can chew”, first lick.
You may find things “harder than skinning a flea,”
or like “a poke in the eye with a sharp stick”
While you wish to appear “as tough as stewed skunk,”
your appearance to me is of “a sheep killing dog.”
You’re “all gurgle and no guts” thinking you're a hunk,
and think you’re as “handy as hip pockets on a hog.”
The coffee you drink “would raise a blister on a boot,”
and at paying time, “you’ve short arms and deep pockets.”
For the opinions of others “you don’t give a hoot,”
Your stature will probably “never rise like rockets.”
“You’re grinnin’ like a pig eatin’ persimmons” right now,
thinking “you’re finer than frog hair split four ways.”
You’ve never been inclined to “put your hand to the plow”
perhaps thinking “desires are nourished by delays?”

Baa Baa Black Sheep
Corruption was pretty heavy
The wool market well controlled
Black sheep was a union contributor
That's the story, or so I am told
One bale was sent to the secretary
One bale, his wife on the side
It was better to grease the bosses palms
than see his business slide
One bale was sent to the delegate
The man who controlled the shop floor
His suppression on workers unrest and stuff
Allowed Blacks sales to soar
Money greases the wheels of Industry

My toilet was blocked, what a bummer
I texted Curtis, he’s a plumber
He got out his long rod
Gave my blockage a prod
If lucky t’will be fixed by summer!
The plumber has read a food thesis
Why faeces aren’t falling to pieces
If you go the whole hog
You will poop a bog log
Our diets needs more oils and greases!

An hour long nap right after lunch?
I find it helps me quite a bunch!
When sleep is missed the night before,
It matters not if work or play,
A nap is balm to stress of day,
And this is not just metaphor!
A nap is like self-given hug,
That brings a smile back to your mug.
No, don’t discount its healing pow’r,
A servant to your ev’ry plan,
That greases all the wheels of man,
A nap, the hero of the hour!
My father first taught me this art,
Much sounder than dessert or fart,
It puts day’s burdens in their place!
God too took rest at end of week,
Rest is Holy! Hear Him speak!
(For from God’s rest poured Saving Grace.)

A decade here,
I smell the the fragrance of the dwelt air.
I am going to miss this refuge
Crying became a task, huge.
I wish not to
Though I wanted to.
For the happiness I found
Had silenced my crying sound.
I wish to take this beauty
Which my eyes observed as a duty.
I wish to take the pure water
Which soothes and makes better.
I wish I take this soft sand
That greases hope on my hand.
My bid is to take a thing
That may read everything.
As I leave this hope full place
Just in case....just in case...
I need to remember
The land that took me a member.
The ship is now leaving with a loud clamor
I relished the comfort of humor.
In my hand... I took the sand
To rhyme my saving Island.

greases it
fixes it

Families sat together when I was young
Ate popcorn had fun….
Around the coffee table we’ whine
Pass the chips gimme mine!
Black and white TV had just come to town
The neighbor had it, it was around.
But, oh the board games we’d play
Parcheesi, dominoes, monopoly!
We’d all sit on the floor on that mustard shag rug
My bratty little sister would get all the cat’s hugs.
The bowl of potato chips would be twixt Dad’s knees
And Mommy would ask to pass the bowl please.
Babe our dog would nose all the pieces
And the monopoly money would get covered with greases??
Boy, we’d laugh cause it always seemed
Baby brother would get thrown in jail, double-teamed.
Well, we never did get rich
But you know what’s funny?
I’d give anything…..
Anything for one more chance
At family…and that Monopoly money!

Bull crap
greases the cogs
The lies
spin the wheels
Misconceptions
never under appeal
Politicians
sucking us dry
Blood
spilled for glory and pride?
Money
runs dry
Freedoms
disappearing at the blink of an eye
Military jets
transgressing the blue sky
And the people
looking up wishing they could fly
Flying
away from their troubles and fears
Reaching
for the moon and stars near
Dieing
to be apart of something greater
Living
to appease an absent creator
Watching
another's life as if in a movie theater
Dreaming
how to be a better dreamer
Sweet dreams little dreamer
