Grandchildren Poems

Premium MemberAn August Goodbye

A leonine sun of August's stately presence,
see the maple and oak leaves,
no longer a fresh green of youth.
Children will put their beach pails away,
when September's boughs drop acorns.

It's the closing chapter of the carefree months,
when sweethearts on the moonlit boardwalks
part.
I enjoyed iced coffee on the patio,
when the newly-mowed lawn days set us
to daydreaming,
watching wrens, bluebirds,
...

Premium MemberGrandchildren Studying a Different Ology

Seven grandchildren, each studying their own science courses
I understand some of them, but am fuzzy about the other sources
astrology is being studied by Ellen, yes astrology
I think of her when I look into the sky; it interests me

Geology makes sense for Brian, he has collected rocks since five
But cryptology for Landon does not make sense

To My Children And Grandchildren No Matter What Just Say God I Trust You

Trust in God, that's all I will say.
Love on Him and trust Him everyday!
Run to Him whenever things go wrong.
At our Father's side is where we all belong.
He should be the first thought on our mind.
Whenever we're going through a troubled time.
For the sick and the dying too.
Surrender to His will, saying "God I trust

To My Children and Grandchildren See The Cross In The Right Way

The Cross is such a simple little thing.
The Place of death for Heaven's King!
We should give God thanks daily for the Cross.
The Alter He sacrificed Jesus on for the lost.
He says, "No one does right, we all do wrong!"
Death and Hell for eternity is where all belong.
We all are guilty, by our own choice.
Doing as

My Children and Grandchildren The Bible is Your Guide Listen to It Not People

God has left all mankind a book.
Full of His wisdom, just take a look.
It tells us how all things begin.
Then explains how they will end.
Each book a story about a humans life.
Their triumphs, failures, peace, and strife.
Each one a lesson for us that's true.
To teach us what? and what not to do!
It teaches us about

My Children and Grandchildren Don't Foolishly Follow People, Because They Will Pay

When problems come, we want to blame God first!
But the truth of it all is your actions put you under a curse.
The Bible says when you obey God, all will go right.
And when you do not, you'll struggle most of your life!
Cursed are all creatures who choose to disobey.
Everything in the bible, written to show

To my Children Grandchildren God is Much More Than 3 Letters

Have you ever considered just who God can be?
First, He is Creator of everything we see.
He created 3 heavens, in the highest is his throne.
In the middle spirits move and the last is our home.
He glanced down from his throne, into the black of night.
By his only voice alone, He spoke and created light!
Protons, neutrons,

A Father's Words to the Children, Grandchildren he Loves

My children this is dad, whenever you are sad,
Talk to God, he will listen to you.
Think of something to say, to Him everyday.
At this age, that's what I try to do.
I can say this is true, He keeps his word to me and you,
Throughout my life he always did.
He spoke to my mind, every night

To my children and grandchildren People will fail you

Don't think it strange when someone attacks!
A person you hold dear ,stabs you in the back!
Learn from God's word that all people are flawed.
To God nothing about our behavior is odd!

Many times I hung around people, just to appear cool.
Then regretted it the next day, how I looked like a fool!
Attempted to try things and

To my Grandchildren the story of Salvation

God wants us all to know the meaning of the Cross.
How Jesus on it, did save all who were lost.
The garden of Eden, is where it all begins.
God created two humans, both without sins.
Gave clear instructions, to Adam the man.
Obey what I say and live great in this land.
I will make a female version, an

Premium MemberWe Are Blessed

We
await
our coming
great miracle-
making number five-
nearing the end of March.
More happy days to soon share-
adding new cheers with those before;
four great-grandchildren, three girls- one boy.
Soon, our new great-grandson marks number five.

One day I pray to meet
My children's children, with my mother's blue eyed glee
Seeing me

My deepest wish
Blessed to see my progeny
Love rich

My child
Hope to see ye

Blessed to see my progeny

Premium MemberLove Song to My Grandkids

Dear Grandchildren,
The day you were born
my life changed
to the better –
again, and again,
with the arrival
of each one of you

Just as it had changed
so completely,
so incredibly,
so wonderfully,
when your mother
and your father,
respectively,
first came to me
seemingly out of
nowhere –

and suddenly
my small, petty,
mediocre,
confining world
burst wide open
to let in a miracle,

the only

Premium MemberThe Final Thirty- Nine

The skin on my hands, paper thin
Showing twisted blue veins within, underneath.
…Dry as a rustling autumn leaf…

I only recognize who I see in my
mirror when I look deep into my
dark eyes.
…just a mass of wrinkles otherwise…

My whole family, children and
grandchildren, Came to sit at my
Sunday table.
…I will cook for them

Premium MemberWHEN WE TAUGHT OUR GRANDCHILDREN HOW TO GAMBLE

I ran across some photos the other day
hanging off an old branch on our family tree…
and as photos often do they awoke a memory in me.

I love how that happens…sometimes as down memory lane I ramble
a simple photograph or two can make a memory unscramble.

It was the night we taught our grandchildren to play poker
(If
