Premium Member Night of Transformation

Happily married there I was
my dearest Jean had been ill
but got worse phone doc he came
phone ambulance wait so still

Then off to hospital for emergency
but unknown so life will be alone
within a few hours be a widow
my love loses life on her own

So I come home late at night
thinking this is me single again
married less than a year it was
now future holds what or when?

My bible I read and kneel to pray
asking God what can I now do?
into my heart, an inner voice said
come to me my son I am true

So I bowed my heart to this Jesus
who had taken my sins far away
this my night of transformation
God became real forever to stay

(This was written a number of years ago, so makes it a golden oldie!
Recalling my night of transformation when God came in and met me in my greatest tragedy to come alongside me and stay for life. )

Premium Member Chapel Bells

The
Ringing
Of chapel bells
Resonating in tune
On our favorite melodies,
Especially those golden-oldie hymns,
Harmonies for a hungry heart
Singing
Bells

Your Voice

Today I heard you speak
I just needed it so much ...
to hear your voice
I miss you
Your voice made me smile
Your awkwardness on the answering machine
I wanted to leave a message
But I knew it would do no good
to make you think of me

To hear your voice again
was like music to my ears
So even if you didn't know
You still make me laugh
I still think of you
I still dream of you
I can't seem to let you go
I love you

Maybe one day
I'll have the strength to tell you
And the power to let you go

(A golden oldie ;) - 19.07.1997)

Golden Oldie

The kids have all grown and moved out on their own
I can now be a senior with ease

But as I get older, unburden my shoulders
the help I once gave I now need

What has happened to me? I flaunt apathy
I’m becoming my parents I fear

I’ve ditched rock and roll for the daily news show
and prefer jasmine tea to a beer

A concert for me, well, used to be
A summer of fun at Red Rocks

And now my idea of fun for a night
is taking my dog for a walk

Premium Member Never a Doubt

I'm no longer afraid of being lonely
Since you became part of my life
You gifted me the promise of forever
When you said you would be my wife

All the moments that have been perfect
Come from the smile you gift each day
My love, you are more than amazing
You have blessed me in many a way

When the two of us came together
Many wondered what it was all about
There were those who thought we were crazy
But my darling I never had any doubt

Together and yet unique people
I've learned so much by being with you
Authentic and oh so amazing
I'm inspired by all that you do

A love that is meant for forever
Leaves room for each person to grow
Each day is a true celebration
With you, that's what I've come to know.

Premium Member Crystal Rain

Purple hues of twilight fall
As crystal raindrops drip from the window sill
A golden oldie is playing down the hall
that fills the heart with a sentimental thrill

Then comes the blackness of the night
With ghastly ghouls and ghostly sights
But in the white light of the dawn
All the dark fears are gone
Red roses glisten with the morning dew
Pink hibiscus welcomes bumble bees too

Morning gives way to a red hot noon
When marmalade butterflies flutter and swoon
As gray clouds in the distance loom
Heavy rains give shades of green a liquid boon
Rain concludes giving rise to the sun's amber glow
Illuminating a plethora of colors that paint the rainbow
Evening brings forth majestic orange sunsets
The golden yellow moon will rise yet
                            ~~
