Night of Transformation

Happily married there I was
my dearest Jean had been ill
but got worse phone doc he came
phone ambulance wait so still

Then off to hospital for emergency
but unknown so life will be alone
within a few hours be a widow
my love loses life on her own

So I come home late at night
thinking this is me single again
married less than a year it was
now future holds what or when?

My bible I read and kneel to pray
asking God what can I now do?
into my heart, an inner voice said
come to me my son I am true

So I bowed my heart to this Jesus
who had taken my sins far away
this my night of transformation
God became real forever to stay

(This was written a number of years ago, so makes it a golden oldie!
Recalling my night of transformation when God came in and met me in my greatest tragedy to come alongside me and stay for life. )

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV Sorry for your loss my friend, but proud you seeked Jesus
