Something Sweet

I want something sweet
Pestered by my brain
It’s like a recurring tweet
I am trying to refrain

Something sticky like toffee
A gooey dessert of delight
To eat with a cup of coffee
Resisting with all my might

A chocolate bar or wafer
To ease my craving buds
Apple would be much safer
But it tastes like fairy suds

I am waiting for 4 o’clock
The Sunday shops stop calling
My will as solid as a rock
My glucose level’s falling

The pride of not succumbing
A passing of this test
I should be very happy yet,
My brain’s becoming a pest.

Premium MemberFrom the Outside

I can see you by the window from the outside
Squinting, smiling through the sunlight
You could see me in the corner of your eye
But I'm miles away from the sight
What’s the news, how is your blood glucose
How did you sleep last night
You can’t hear my voice I suppose
You’d appreciate how hard I have tried
You don’t hear me, but I can see you
All your worries are over and done
On the leaves glints the fresh morning dew
Garden flowers bloom out in the sun.

A Second Thought

It was a day unlike any other before,
The day I wasn't alone anymore.
A beautiful day, the sun in the sky,
The day I vowed to make you my guy.
On that day I found what I sought,
It was the day I gave love a second thought.
I want you to know you've given me change of heart,
I have loved you from the very start.
Each day my heart gets it's dose,
Of your heart so sweet, it's like glucose.
I have Finally found what I've been looking for,
I have found someone that I absolutely adore.
That someone is You! Do you hear me, my dear?
Have I made my feelings Crystal clear?

Unplug the Machines and Let Death Come Naturally

When and if the time should ever
come when all is said and that can
be has been done

And the only signs or form of life
that remains is being kept alive
via electronic machines

Believing he could no longer or would
wish to fight on otherwise he surely
would have

Then gather round all that loved this
poor soul whilst still alive for 1 last
final remaining time

Unplug the tubes that aid them breathe
switch off the whaling pinging machines
signaling heartbeat arithmetics

Disconnect the saline solution glucose
drip colostomy bag and statistics patches
covering them from head to toe

Release them from their comatose state
and living nightmare

For this is life in name only alive but
not alive to the world

And rather let all their dreams come true
forevermore and after that day too as
well

And in so doing so let also the living move
on to not join them in their daily grief and
pain as well

To celebrate life not just only death

Wrestlers Imagination

A face worse than Traffic Jam!
Charles badly wants to melt Sam:
The Man to before Men slam
And him cause to board a tram…

Charles had been by choice A Clam
But he sure hits like A Bam!
And can hands down beat Sam;
With or without eating Yam
With not glucose his guts cram…

“One thing to tell you Champ Sam:
For me you slaughter a ram
Or I shall your river dam;
The World show you weigh less gram!”

Walking a Healthy Life Style

Walking, early morning walking
Makes your life healthy living
Walking, early morning walking
Makes your body glucose burning
Walking, early morning walking
Removes your brain stress hacking
Walking, early morning walking
Gives you so much pleasure, leisure
For human creature, who is a part of wonderful Nature
Walking, early morning walking
Spending time with the nature
Talking, discussing, debating with the friends in the ground
Walking a healthy life style for living
Walking
Cholestrol depleting
Glucose burning
Blood is running, easily going
Walking
A healthy life style living

Life Never Pleasant For the Peasant

A parent wanting his son to survive,
For this begins to humanly strive
To snatch him back, have his Jim revive
The scene before twelve a buzzing beehive,
Even as more alerted feet arrive,
Delaying Journalists to the scene soon drive

A hunger-induced fall and tragic swoon
No unpaid medic ever arrives that soon
No ready-for-body-use glucose,
An unashamed fry of sugar as penury chose
Life, indeed, never had been pleasant
For Abraham, the-all-time peasant
His spared help, the solidarity faces of onlookers
A number with good mustache, the rest all whiskers.

Access To Diabetes Care: Wdd 2021:

In this era of Covid scare,
Where human interactions are so rare.
Much time on gadgets to spare,
Poor patients’ plight, no one to care.
Poverty, illiteracy & poor health care,
These issues need to be addressed fair & square.
Diabetes, a problem, leaving no organ to spare,
Asking for urgent, united efforts, so that ‘it gets rare’.
It’s the physician’s commitment, compassion & care.
That the patients feel at home & their worries are
no-where !
Screening for glucose control & if diabetes complications are there.
Giving them more time & attention, should be our everyday affair.
No matter, brittle is diabetes with many a sequelae out there ?
Folks with diabetes, need encouragement, confidence & optimal care.
There is always a silver lining in dark clouds everywhere.
To our patients we resolve, trying easy access to diabetes care.

Hypoglycemia

An incurable condition: Type 1 diabetes
Potentially fatal hypoglycemia- low blood sugar
Surprise onset, no forewarning, telltale symptoms absent
Abruptly overthrowing any semblance of cerebral control

Potentially fatal hypoglycemia- low blood sugar
Life saving glucose has been wiped out of the bloodstream
Abruptly overthrowing any semblance of cerebral control
Everyday tasks, so easy to execute, now impossible to perform

Life saving glucose has been wiped out of the bloodstream
The body breaking down without its required energy supply
Everyday tasks, so easy to execute, now impossible to perform
Consciousness depleted; extinction appearing to be the inescapable finale.

The body breaking down without its required energy supply
Yet out of the darkness comes life saving sweetness
Consciousness depleted; extinction appearing to be the inescapable finale
But resurrection by sugar has allotted another chance at existence

Shifting Gears

In life we go through many phases.
And our minds go to many places.
Some people stay right where they are.
And sadly, don't go very far.

It's when we get outside ourselves.
And climb down off those dusty shelves.
That we can find a whole new world.
And spend them nuts that we have squirreled.

It seems that in today's society.
You need not move to get variety.
We sit and click and never move.
And causes health to not improve.

Then one day comes an ultimatum.
And we heed the warning verbatim.
Blood pressure's high and so is glucose.
We don't ask why and we don't suppose.

The answers clear, it's time to shift.
Into high gear to slim midriff.
And when we start to feel a change.
Our whole live's start to rearrange.

So find a way that keeps you moving.
So you can continue improving.
And soon you'll start feeling much better.
When you become a daily sweater.

And as the weight begins to shed.
You'll sleep much better in your bed.
So don't just click, get up instead.
Before you wake and find you're dead.

My Blood Belongs To You

My glucose is too high
My salt test says it could kill me
My weight is over the limit by a pound
My X-ray is dark and dim

But, the butter finger she wants to give
Take your pants down and put on the gown
While slickering up her finger
As I gasp for air

Really I say!
Can’t this wait for another day?
Bobby, do you want to die
No, I say

But really can’t this wait for another day?
Give me a Twix or a snicker bar
But gee wiz Doc why the butter finger?
Today is just not my lucky day!

What kind of Doctor is she
She doesn't even know what candy I like

Premium MemberSugar Sarcophagus

Squatting in the insouciant syrup of a somber solid sucrose,
I’m cemented in a molasses morose and its lipogenic fructose.

The glucose gathers as regurgitated nectar barfed by a buzzing swarm,
And what’s inside is fossilized into a saccharine sticky form.

Alas, an amber chamber for a saprophagous future,
Entombs me in my own sarcophagus sealed with a sugar suture.

In this honeycomb crumbling catacomb that captures those who enter,
I’m licked away like a lollipop with a parasitic center.

For all that’s left inside of me has soured into a rotten pile of litter,
As all that’s sweat outside my skin conceals the inner bitter.

Spill

A single drop escapes

A single drop made from
Water, lysozymes and glucose,
But it's so much more than just that.

I miss you
and I want you
and I love you an unbearable amount;
but I'm far too shy to say so.

and just like that,
I can no longer contain myself
And the tears begin to spill.

Premium MemberI Am So Sweet

How can I live without sugar, fructose, glucose,
I love cookies, candies, pies, and pastries and cake;
oh that sweet, sweet lactose, dextrose and cellulose,
grandma's cherry jam and her cupcakes and cheesecake.

I love cookies, candies, pies, and pastries and cake,
that lovely white crystalline substance I love;
grandma's cherry jam and her cupcakes and cheesecake,
I am so sweet, my love calls me his sugar dove.

That lovely white crystalline substance I love,
I start with candy - coated honey cereal;
I am so sweet, my love calls me his sugar dove,
in the afternoon, coca cola ethereal.

I start with candy-coated honey cereal,
never, ever, no "SUGAR" -  that illegal drug;
in the afternoon, coca cola ethereal,
yes, I should change my name to Sugar Lady Bug.

Never, ever, no "SUGAR"- that illegal drug,
oh that sweet, sweet lactose, dextrose and cellulose;
yes, I should change my name to Sugar Lady Bug,
how can I live without sugar, fructose, glucose!

Pineapple cake tempted my taste buds
Sliced in the lunch hour of the work
Single slice was not ample
To satisfy cravings
Tasting two slices
Without thinking
In high blood
