Premium MemberWear Me Out

I've had this old sweater
For many a year
I want you to have it
Like you, it's so dear

I've worn it in winter
In spring and in fall
It's the first choice I go to
When a chill comes to call

It smells like cologne
The kind that I wear
Acqua di Gio
My favorite fare

It may be too big
But that's quite alright
You'll always be cozy
It'll wrap you up tight

My old well-worn sweater
It's not much to see
But if you do wear it
Will you think of me?

I can't give you much
And we both know why
But take my old sweater
To remember me by

Premium MemberRehashing History: the Model and the Master

Giovanni didn't trust Michelangelo,
He'd heard that for guys he was hot.
But for minimum pay of a florin* a day,
He was willing to give it a shot.
As soon as they started the session,
Gio's senses said something was wrong.
Mickey couldn't decide how to pose him--
Wearing armor, a toga, a thong?
This went on for a while, and then with a smile
The master casually said to the dude,
"Please don't think me a jerk,
But to get this to work,
I must have you totally nude."
Avoiding eye contact, Gio peeked at his contract,
Then took a deep breath and replied,
"Si, but with the insistence that you keep your distance,
And another five florins besides."

And that's the way the story goes,
I've repeated it word for word,
How the most famous statue in all of the world,
The one that's called "David" occurred.

*Author's note: The florin, ducat, and lire were common currencies during Michelangelo's time. A florin, according to one source, was worth 2 crowns, approximately $26.00 today. I could not find the name of the model who posed for this sculpture nor how much he was paid. I doubt seriously if M. paid his models in florins, but I like the alliterations.

Premium MemberDolce Far Niente

"Buonjiorno carina, hello sweetheart"
he says with a smile and a stroke of goatee
Her acqua di Gio is fantasy art,
un dolce far niente that lingered in scent;

"La Spiaggia, the beach?"
he points on to it with a grin and two roving eyes.
Her manners are suave she just smiles then moves on
"Ti Prego, I Beg You "
he says as he follows the trail of her sensuos bod,
lost in the luxury of un dolce far niente;
"Arrivederci amore mio, goodbye my love"
she whispers to the air that clings to her sultry dress.

Scattered showers of desire run through his veins,
she's Italian this vixen and only she, holds the reins.

Premium MemberFrench Connection

Lake of beauty there in France
Invitation for romance
Of course you know what I'll now say
I want to go with you someday

We don't know French but no big deal
We'll learn together, so much appeal
There is in doing things with you
And I still hope you want me to

But if you don't I understand
And I'll still write odes by my hand
To let you know that I'm still here
Expressing love through words, my dear

And if one day that well runs dry
Just look for me up in the sky
A little plane can create art
With it I'll draw for you a heart

And loop-the-loop over your head
In yellow smoke, a feather bed
Of lilac clouds and Vera Wang
Ascends from you, those scents will hang

And blend in with my best cologne
Acqua di Gio descends down
A fragrant zephyr fills the air
Together, forever floating there

Acqua di Gio cologne fills the air
It's time for your lesson, I'll be right there
Tune up for me so we can save time
Today we'll start working on musical rhyme

Now you sit right here and hold the guitar
I'll be behind you, I'll fret the barre
You play the melody high on the strings
And together as one we'll make lovely things

At the age of just fourteen, and then square,
He became the National Champion Apollo.

The year he won at the Juniors in Tarbes,
Then he kept this title in 2009, then rate,
In Turkey 2010 Gordon had fourth agility.

In 2015 he won the French and US Opens,
And then in 2016 he won both Wimbledon,
And also the French Open again, no tokens:
It was real, and everyone cheered Gordon!

In West Dumbartonshire: comes from a family
Of tennis players and began playing the mown,
When he was six, Karen Ross is coach, history.

The Hooker and the Gentleman

In one of those nights
under a corner light
he picked her up for a ride
she smelled cheap cologne
he smelled acqua di gio
they stopped by the bridge
how much,he asked
two hundred she said
fine,
here is my credit card
that's all i got
what
are you kidding me you fat bastard
where is my money
you cheap mthfckr
get out of my car
he yelled
or i'm gonna call the cops
and took off
he went home
where wife and two kids
were waiting at the table
for supper
he kissed everyone
he sat
said a quick prayer
told them how tiring is
to be a provider
"it takes pride
and honesty" he said
and went straight to bed
happy that again
he had a good day...

There is no hollywood ending
in this little tale
while the poor hooker
is sitting still there
under the corner light
waiting for her pimp
that will show up
to collect the money
and they're not enough
it is what it is
it's not wrong or right...
