Sending you get well wishes your way
To help you get through each trying day
Relax, time and rest will heal your pain
And the sun will shine for you again.

Stay positive, strong and have no fear
Better days are sure to soon be here
A teddy bear in claret and blue
Is sat at home, just waiting for you.

You are truly missed, know that is true
It's just not the same here without you
If I possessed a magical wand
You would be right back where you belong.

I know that you are in kind, safe hands
And the caring is superbly grand
So rest and your health and strength regain
Till you are back here with us again.

Lost Art

There was a time
when we waited eagerly
for the mailman -
when mail deliveries
had actual mail in them

There were real
hand-written letters
from parents,
cousins, children, friends,
maybe a lover,
perhaps birthday cards
or get-well wishes
or postcards from far off.
Now we have e-mail
instant gratification –
no waiting for days
Jot off a note with
a click and it’s there

No more long pages of
small talk about family,
friends, the neighborhood,
or a new recipe,
things that make
letters enjoyable.
Now mailboxes overflow
with advertisements
unwanted catalogues
political cards full of
slander of opponents
and dubious information

Most of all, requests
for money, accompanied by
unwanted and unneeded
tote bags, return labels,
t-shirts and greeting cards -
all paid for with money
supposedly sent
to provide help
for some needy cause
Trees sacrificed for what?
junk mail, trashed as soon
as it’s out of the mailbox!
What of all the history
gleaned from letters
over the years?

Most e-mails are deleted.
Whatever could be learned
from them is gone.

The written letter
has become a lost art.

Premium Member Bash Putin, Continued

Vlad Putin was dealing with state affairs
On his way back he skidded down the stairs
You could smell the foul gas
Cos' he ruptured his a.s.s
No get well wishes because nobody cares.

He'd fallen over and broke his a.s.s. bone
A guard rushed over when he heard a moan
Hard luck you commie jerk
Cos' it's karma at work
Start praying now for your sins and atone

Dont Angels Get Mail

Don’t Angels Get Mail?

I sent a Valentine’s Day card to a friend
Filled with get well wishes…
Hoping she was on the mend
I sealed it with heart stickers
On the envelope flap

Got my mail today
And what did I see?
Familiar hearts stickers
On the envelope flap

I thought it was from her
But it was not to be

DECEASED?
I cried
No not her

RETURN TO SENDER?
I didn’t know
How could that be?

UNABLE TO FORWARD?
What do you mean?
Don’t angels get mail?

3/26/18

~Liz ~1/9/18~ Gone too soon~
A horrific way to find about a death
You are never prepared to see those words
Deceased - Return to sender- Unable to forward
I received this in my mail...not knowing she was gone

Get Well Wishes

I looked for a silver lining
Surely its not hospital dining
Then I thought since your the best
Perhaps you just need a short rest

Hello my dear old Aunt
Now I don't want to rant
But I heard your on the mend
So I just wanted to send
Tender Get Well Chants
           wrapped
 In healing grace grants

Soon you'll be up and at 'em
Three cheers to you, Madam
