Some fellas and some gals are just plumb mean
and sadly some are deranged and some scream.
  Seems like a certain syndrome
  is screwin’ with your genomes
and sure would explain that mutant dumb gene!

Premium MemberWhere are we going

Where are we going, an endless question in our minds,
Do science or destiny lead our ways?
Life takes several paths, some lead to despair, some to the glory,
Should we blame the failures in the name of destiny?

If we do not believe in destiny,
Let science be our guide,
Through telescopes, we gaze at the distant stars,
Unveiling secrets of worlds afar.
Genomes mapped, we trace our lines,
Understanding the code that intertwines.
Curing diseases, we push the bounds,
With each breakthrough, new hope resounds.

Robots and AI, our new frontier,
Ruling our lives as advancements near,
The future may be bright,
But soon learning hard way will be over,
It is a dangerous precedence,
AI influence on education should be legally controlled.

If we believe in destiny,
Let faith and understanding be our guide,
Our deeds(karma) will shape our destination,
You only have rights to your deeds, not their outcome,
In solemn moments, we should look within,
To find the divine, where it all begins.

Creator and Created

Unbound universe shimmering
Fiery orb of heat and light
This earthly ball's rotation
Oceans crashing shoreward
Majestic mountains rising
Mighty rivers rolling
Fruited plains abound

From molecules, the gift of life explodes
Fragile, persistent, prolific
The genomes exactly followed

With existence comes awareness
Then a searching for its meaning
An epiphany, realization
Praising, thanking, loving
Creator and created
Magnificent Glory found

The Cut

Woe to those that look too far
Into the mysteries of who we are
And dictate that our DNA
Should tell who goes and who can stay

For mapping is complete and finds
What special traits come from our minds
Some regular with reasoned thoughts
And others tied with extra knots

That comprehend both black and white
With smiles that weaken strongest might
Though their genomes contain a twist
From God above are purely kissed

Their view of life though not complex
Viewed through the lens of innocence
Is needed in our troubled times
Before the grays of darkness binds

Though rich their lives should be revealed
In utero their fate now sealed
By those who think that wholeness means
Plain chromosomes and unchanged genes

Yes woe to those who snuff them out
And must we all in protest shout
Against homogeneity
That purges those with trisomy

Lady Familiar

Now...
Metaphors dance in my mind
and there's a word I'm hoping
to find, a line familiar as
"I want you to be mine."
Relying on the fact that
poetry hasn't failed me yet
I hope you approve the way
God chose Moses's mouthpiece
and includes all thou's,
ye's, I's and me's
I want you to possess me
the way a forty-niner
would  gold.
Blaze a trail through
Oregon greenery and
I'll follow you like
 Rockefeller wealth
and hereditary genomes
wearing Nike shoes
till two becomes unified
I promise to pursue you.

Then...
I pictured sunflowers and
spilled rutabagas on grandma's
corner peeled linoleum.
She wore a halo and
shooed away storms
Her hello sounded like hallelujah
and hummed Blessed Assurance
as her dentures soaked
in baking soda.

Eventually...
You're reminding me of
the women of my youth
The qualities of a praying woman
has been man's best protection
The metaphor, word, and
 line familiar found:
 "He hasn't failed me yet,"
I can hear her saying.
I picture you praying.

Malthusian Agenda

The corporation hatched a plan
To hack away the code of life
Arrogance and greed then began
Plotting to profit from our strife
This nation's lost attention span
Grants dull stone to sharpen their knife

Cloaked under the guise of science
Shilling poisons that sap the land
To whittle our self-reliance
Snake-oil reptiles on the grandstand
Hypnotize to bilk compliance
While defiling this fragile strand

As long as stars dance in the sky
Power lust shall tempt to destroy
The fruits we harvest to supply
Vast growth in harmony with joy
Such balance proves grace must apply
Valor pleads we purge the decoy

Yet mercantile lies still defend
Models plotted to reduce chance
Shepherds willing to condescend
That in the name of grim finance
All individuals must end
Every endeavor to advance

So they sow oblivion's seed
While denying true creation
Bombarding genomes they proceed
To execute devastation
For these elitists stand agreed
We deserve only starvation
