Some haunt me pleasantly,
Using the grains of dewy silence that speak loudly
Within the long, grey halls of history.
I recline on such images with smiles I borrow from
The penetralia of my soul and skin.
Behind them come lean trees denuded by the swift
Gales of re-greened winters that celebrated
Friendliness in the course of wondrous seasons.
I peer deeply at them, genuflecting to Time
For its abundance of grace and reflections.
A spell of the past descends generously on me,
Navigating genially through the winding routes of
General ancestry.
They must be black, with the silhouettes I crave —
And white —with the silky mildews that glue together
Dispersed unity of the fragile present.
They transport me back to where I should have
Been but couldn’t be, through the nostalgia for
Where I was —only on sufferance.

DEMENTED
I lift my hands alto my hearts beating;
I move my feet walking alto my mouth speaking;
Genially conditional;
I mark above the burning waters;
I fold my hands and stare;
Run my thumbs through my hair;
Blinking fingers pointing this way;
Demented mind confused and glazed;
All of this surreal;
Emotional appeal ;

Cursive Consolations
David J Walker
Heartlessly pressing words into wine
Our feet are blood red from the crushing
Our heads flowing in faint rhymes
Into dry riverbeds genially growing
An ocean of poetry waiting
Waves bathe the salted bathers
On white beaches lying
Side by side naked in the sand
Sunning themselves in the afternoon
Toweling themselves of pungent prose
After the sun rose the following morning
I remember the rhyme one will say to another
Who has fallen deep into a sleep of poetic meaning
Are you listening one says
No, I’m dreaming he replays as starfish cover his eyes
Creating cursive consolations

Ask me a probing question - Why are you - you?
I write these words and lines to guide you through
the who, what, and how of my world view.
Offering my most genial reply,
the abc's here prove to specify
why, made in God's image, his path I ply.
Announcing Bold Convictions, I do
Declare Essential Faith unto you.
Gladly Herald, Introducing folks to
Jesus - King - Lord, His most precious name.
Maligned? Nullify, Openly Proclaim;
Questioned? Reasonably Speak Truth without shame.
Uttering Vocal Worship Xenial-ly, as
Yahweh’s Zephyr I speak with pizzazz.
*xenially is the Greek form of the English word, genially.

there's a bloke in this cafe wearing
heart-shaped spectacles
they're a mauve slash purple colour
but they're not your franklin bi-focals
john hegley said you could trust
a man in glasses (big time)
harry angstrom felt naked
wearing glasses
his posture is overblown
he's sampling his tea genially
with an extensive face
he's immersed in his smartphone
like that horse that needed lenses
rothschild with his zebra carriage
there were no heart-shaped glasses
on the hill in calvary
my four-year-old-son told me
he wanted to eat my glasses

I load the dirty clothes into your drum
You are waiting for the tab willing me on
I close the door and wait diligently
You start to gurgle and grind
I watch as you spin making me smile
You stand there all alone, performing steadily turning
I walk away but never fear I will be back
You have finished and I am flustered
I am so grateful for the washing machine genially

To all the people who feel alone, depressed and want to die
Please don’t give up
Just know that there is love
There is somebody that loves you
There’s a lot of love to give
A blessed life to live
That evil spirit is making you blind
I hope someone reads this in time
So you can be free
There is a light at the end of this dark tunnel
You are going through
Don’t let that evil spirit lie to you
Please listen to me
Don’t kill yourself
Go get some help
Please
And when you get well,
you will see
Genially
Writing from my heart
I know it’s hard
You can still win
Don’t give up the fight
It’s dark and I know you can’t see
Please believe me when I say
Keep going and you’ll see that light
I promise

Iris in the pupil of the mother cat's eye
turns golden red,with irritable pry.
Her engineer boss,admirable and witty
in an iota of time,caught her little orangey
went away,in an excellent costly Porsche,
impressive sound it emits per se.
The mother's heart knocks out anxiously
to beg her generous master,genially
"kindly, return the apple of my eye"
and bring over the lost order without a sigh.
Absurd it is ! how can anyone appreciate
this kink,towards a mother's right !!
