Die Marionet
Daar voor op die verhoog
So ewe droog.
Die Marionet
Met die Meester se stem
So, asof getem.
Die Marionet
Geen wil van sy eie
Het hy ‘n getuie?
Die Marionet?
Hy dans darem en sing
Hy is ‘n snaakse ding.
Jy weet mos
Aan toutjie van gena’
Niks wat hom pla
Moet ek weer?
Met die meester se mag
Het almal gelag
Vir die pop
As die vertoning verby is
Opgesluit in ‘n kis...
DIE MARIONET

Pulling Petals
By Gena
He loves me,
He loves me not,
He hates me,
And acts like he forgot;
He breaks my heart when he gives me the look,
Of hate, disappointment, and then throws a smirk
I miss him yet he doesn't miss me.
I can still feel the magic that we used to have,
The joy, the laughter,the happy tears;
They're all gone; all that's left is an empty soul.
and the thought of what we had and what could have been...

Will you wait for me, dear, until tomorrow?
When my time has passed
Along with my sorrow
I'll wait for you, beside the sea
Where I hope to find you
Waiting for me
I'll love you until the stones become dust
Til' the sea is forgotten
By the earth's dying crust
I'll love you long after, each of the sands
Is counted and lost by
My longing hands
I'll hold you until, my strength is no longer
Then bitterly wish
For a strength so much stronger
I'll hold you after, forever has faded
A forever that for you
I would have traded
I miss you my dear
My love, my daughter
And words cannot grasp the ache of this father
I miss you my dear
Oh my love, my daughter
* For every father who has had to lose his little girl.
Dedicated to the memory of Elly Jane Smith and Gena Grahm

Miss Gena loves all purple things
No matter what her day might bring.
She loves purple clothes...
Has oodles of those -
And also wears quite fancy rings.

Yes, I know
That I should get a job,
Volunteer my time,
Do something productive.
Yes, I know
I could have earned
A better math grade,
Stayed awake in class,
Never been tardy.
Yes, I know
I could be a better person,
More patient,
More conservative and sensible.
Yes, I know
Sometimes I lose it,
Fight mean people,
(Especially Gena).
Yes, I know
I've been through it,
Put myself in
Unusual predicaments-
Places I didn't want
To be.
Yes, I know
I can be hypocritical,
Selfish,
Say things I regret.
Though, I want
To be a better person
Because I know
My father is proud of me.
