Heaven Waiting

Will you wait for me, dear, until tomorrow?
When my time has passed
Along with my sorrow
I'll wait for you, beside the sea
Where I hope to find you
Waiting for me

I'll love you until the stones become dust
Til' the sea is forgotten
By the earth's dying crust
I'll love you long after, each of the sands
Is counted and lost by
My longing hands

I'll hold you until, my strength is no longer
Then bitterly wish
For a strength so much stronger
I'll hold you after, forever has faded
A forever that for you
I would have traded

I miss you my dear
My love, my daughter
And words cannot grasp the ache of this father
I miss you my dear
Oh my love, my daughter

* For every father who has had to lose his little girl.
Dedicated to the memory of Elly Jane Smith and Gena Grahm

How heart wrenching. I didn't read this before. I'm so sorry to know that you've lost a daughter, Caleb. That is the greatest pain one can endurance. This poem is so endearing. May the memories keep your heart warm. Where have you been? Are you OK? Was going through my older writes and remembered you. Big hugs

Your beautiful tribute to your daughter brought tears to my eyes. I lost my son two months ago and I am still grieving and unable to write poetry. My last son is in the hospital after having a stroke caused by an aneurysm very much like my younger son. I am praying he survives. I am very sorry for your loss. Blessings

A sad thing indeed. We are not supposed to have to go through this in our lives. Sadness is pervasive in our lives, but this is beyond and brings tears to my eyes.

Excellent writing and very touching lines, very lyrical and poetic with scenes ably painted by your words. Perfect arrangement and smooth flow, even more perfect title and a moving truly profound message. So much depth and wisdom.

This truly touches the heart and I can feel the compassion in each line, the love shines through, and it is evident how much family means to you, Caleb--- I definitely remember you writing about Elly Jane--God bless the sweet souls of Elly Jane and Gena....may strength and love continue to be in their, your families...

Caleb,I looked to see if maybe they were children in the news who had been killed or abducted? Or maybe they are just two girls that moved away from their dad. This is so nice a poem!! I guess the abduction thing is on my mind because a girl at our school, young and beautiful went missing and it's been over a week now. I fear the worst has happened to her. It's all over the news. Please pray for Elizabeth Laguna.

Beautiful tribute - it moved me to tears - I can think of nothing more painful than losing a child - my heart goes out to anyone in this situation :-( Hugs Jan xx
