Premium MemberLittle Beige Gecko

Romance in Nature is filled with dancing and singing, and a little color.
~ Poet

A sprightly creature shares my home.
Little beige gecko, oft times green,
regards my porch as if his own.
Many hours he may be seen
from railing to roof, and in between.

My porch, his favored retreat,
filled with ferns and jasmine yellow,
provides his shelter, idyllic and neat.
He loses his temperament mellow
when time to challenge another fellow.

At mating time, he struts proudly.
Neck swollen, throbbing ruby from red,
he swaggers and performs loudly.
Prancing around without dread,
he becomes the male he sees in his head.

Gecko

One morning summer
A gecko hides silently
On a brown young twig.

Premium MemberStrange Sounds

The strangest sounds I never heard
Are from a lizard and a bird -
The quiet voice of the gecko,
A duck’s quack that doesn’t echo.

a small green gecko
smiling in the palapa
watching everything

arachnids calmly
weave intricate spiderwebs
waiting in shadows

a striped iguana
sunbathing on the smooth rocks
watching the ocean

hermit crabs scuttle
on wet sand, going nowhere,
only moving on

A Beko Chooses Nickname Gecko

Not for prized Wristwatch Seiko
Would I wear a Nick Gecko
And there is a sane Beko
Who could drink to “a Gecko”
And permits us to echo
“Beko is your Wall Gecko”
‘The Nick, no fear, re-echo’
Has Beko goals of Decoy?
In Nick ‘Gecko’ Gold’s Alloy?
Just what is wrong with Beko
And where does this dreams anchor?

Nickname for operation
We watch with admiration
Dwelling on strained relations
And men saving their nations:
‘Shooting’ their occupation,
Out of barracks: their station:
Towards battlefront with chants:
“Wall Gecko for you, Doomed Ants”

Premium MemberPlotting To Overthrow the Gecko King

The diabolical Geckos were plotting
While our fall leaves were rotting
Yes there was some spotting
On those leaves that were rotting

But this is the crazy most maniacal ridiculous thing
Those Geckos were plotting to overthrow the king
I knew what turmoil this might to our kingdom bring
So I turned traitor and told their plot to the king

Gecko

Mary had a gecko
Its skin was shamrock green
But everywhere that Mary went
It changed its colour scheme

When Mary went to Heaven
Her gecko made the scene
Saint Peter sent them back again
He thought they had gangrene!

So when you get to Heaven
And you need a go-between
Just ask for Mary's gecko
Its the Devil's own routine!

Psychic Woes

Flutters a crocodile gecko his thick-edged tail,
And licks his sticky lips with his twisted tongue;
His eyes ablaze with fire, and in his abdomen,
Rotten corpses stand erect like haunting tombs.

And now - withering thuds of heavy strides
Drown the boulder, the child’s hideout,
And a wretch with a deep cut on his right jaw
Towers, beclouding him like a deformed ghost.

A tender home gecko breaks his own tiny tail
As a trick to escape from Crocodile’s grip,
Yet Crocodile lands on the tailor-less soul,
Seizes him by his neck, and they wrestle and fall.

Wresting - rustling stops, and sky stands higher;
Nature’s slow somber music laments in a choir.

Gecko

Did you know the Gecko cannot blink ?
No I did not, but it sounds alluring that image
Of a focused lizard reptilian in glorious intent
From hide bound tail to protruding cheeks and jowl

So I blink, too tired to contemplate the enemy who stalks
Unruly neighbor holding night long juice jointed jamborees
Where alcohol steams the atmosphere with its truth venom
Inhaling vapours that create this courage that carries cowards

Yes I will blink, sleep deprived laborer courting reluctant pens
Refusing to yield hidden gems and buried treasures like jade
And tanzanite blue rhythms that accompany melodies and dirges
Legend has it that only the cry of the lion is met with sympathy
That of the lamb actions firing coals and flaring wood piles
Eager to consume flesh of the flesh returning it to the soil
Crosses are only temporary and sting in Easter
If carried by the many Simons that dot our unholy lives
Mother was the first and most enduring taken for granted
Only Gecko’s know the patient denuding effects of focus

Turning this pages that refuse to yield riches
And daily only seem to offer me
The menses of aborted dreams

Moth, Light, Gecko and I

I stared at the ceiling in the dead of the night.
Depressed, devoid of feelings I needed light.
Something in the bulb, palpitating in delight.
Enticing like a siren, flashing colours ignite.

Depressed, devoid of feelings I needed light.
A dribbling Moth I espied, duped by the sight.
Enticing like a siren, flashing colours ignite.
'Stop, wake up you stupid Moth' sadly I cried.

A dribbling Moth I espied, duped by the sight.
Moth dived, got scorched on a suicide flight.
'Stop, wake up you stupid Moth' sadly l cried.
Dazed, Moth got up preparing for another dive.

Moth dived, got scorched on a suicide flight.
Creeping Gecko with a dancing tongue, I espied.
Dazed, Moth got up preparing for another dive.
Gecko's tongue lashed out, Moth got eaten alive.

Creeping Gecko with a dancing tongue, l espied.
Gecko looked at me, winked and smiled.
Gecko's tongue lashed out, Moth got eaten alive.
'Snap out of it stupid Man, go get a life.'

Gecko looked at me, winked and smiled.
Something in the bulb, palpitating in delight.
'Snap out of it stupid Man, go get a life.'
I stared at the ceiling in the dead of the night.

Baby Gecko

Baby gecko on the wall
You are so very, very small.
Have you come inside to play?
Or just to pass the time away?

Does your mother know you’re here?
Or is she searching everywhere.
She must be frantic with emotions reeling
While you’re just walking on my ceiling.

If I catch you, and put you out
Will you know your way about?
If you go through a different door
You won’t see your mother anymore.

So I’ll have to let you stay
To wander on your merry way.
I hope one day you’ll be big and strong
And stay outside, where you belong

Premium MemberGeico's Gecko Vs That Other Guy

Wouldn't it be strange if all of a sudden that Allstate Insurance wizard,

Got choked up and began speaking Aussie like unto that little lizard!

Conversely, wouldn't it be mighty odd if the Geico Gecko should,

Elect to speak in those sonorous tones be be understood!

Folks would be perplexed determining if "You Are In Good Hands" assurance,

Or "It's So Easy A Cave Man Can Do It 15 Minutes Could Save A Bundle" insurance!

Premium MemberThe Geico Gecko

Geico's Gecko is a strange little dude

Talking funny and strolling in the nude

But be that as it may

I'm sure he earns his pay

At selling insurance he's mighty shrewd
