Gone are the days of the great empiring
Ravens wings now clipped at the tower
England lives on sense of entitlements
A great national pride is now destroyed
There will be days of reminiscences sadly
Britianish is now devoid of any character
Respect is no longer politically correct
It ancient rich history is now squandered
The bulldog fighting spirit forever tamed
Independence is sought like prodigal son
A nation no longer being united kingdom
Never again to bathe in past glories in GB

There should be an idle Olympics,
one where you don't cycle or run,
and instead of diving, there's synchronised skiving
where teams of four get nothing done.
A training camp for doing little
would certainly pick up my vote,
full of amateur loafers sprawled out on the sofas
not caring about where's the remote.
Gold medals for staring at ceilings
that have needed repainting for years,
a silver for shirking, a bronze for not working
with an audience too idle to cheer.
No sports fitness coaches to nag you,
or physios to massage your joints,
starting gun's in the drawer
should you need it- what for?
As we all shrug, and say 'what's the point?'
I'll put my name down for team GB,
her indoors says 'you've nothing to prove,
you're already a winner' as she makes my dinner
and I can't be bothered to move.

American protests for American problems from American law
As a white man, as I am, can’t help but notice, a tiny little flaw.
It is not a black issue but an American one
And fact is I stand with you, hoping change is to come
But I don’t live under American law,
or with American mentality,
where white superior and the brutality
Recognising American ways are not universal,
as in Britain ways I’ve not seen at all.
Brits protesting seems to be copycat
caused by pride but not fact,
Ignorant to differences in attitude
and justice levels not skewed
Those American events have an ill taste
but that’s the flavour America will place
it’s about their law being replaced
and not the universal black race

When he was only two and a half years old,
But many a complex reconstructive surgery,
Meant that he could achieve his ambitions.

And his brother represented Great Britain,
In both the triathlon and duathlon, no swim,
Also mum has run ten London marathons.

When Ryan had just finished his GCSE’s,
And was having fun at a friend’s party,
He belly flopped into a child’s paddle pool,
Broke his back, so he’s paralysed partly.
Rehab included para-shooting, many guns,
And Mandeville showed him sports galore,
And in time he found he loved to compete,
So he joined team GB shooting to shore.
His Paralympic debut was London, 2012,
Where he was the British Torch Bearer,
And he made Rio, he comes from Aldridge,
Born on 17 June 1990, an internet tare.

David is Northern Ireland’s very first representative,
In a Cerebral Palsy 7-a-side Paralympic footy team;
He was so impressed by London 2012 assertive,
That he asked his managers about the GB team.
Just graduated from Queens University, Belfast,
In Computing and Information Tech, he’s a ‘90s child,
He captained the Northern Ireland football cast,
At the 2015 Worlds in St Georges Park - he’s a mild.

…It helped me overcome [the] difficulties I [had]
growing up with a disability. It taught me to [rise up],
not to let my disability get in the way [of what I had]”.

Martin works at a KFC in Glasgow, where he’s from,
And so plays football on their team. Internationally,
He’s played in three major tournaments, not a con,
Because he’s on the Scotland team unequivocally.
He played at school but was discriminated against,
So picked up disability football to make a go of it,
Therapy improved his agility greatly, he did persist,
‘Cos on the pitch he lacks the control others pit.
He was playing on a disabled placement scheme,
When a coach duly noticed him, asking for interest,
So he enlisted in the GB and in the Scotland team,
Making his Paralympian debut at Rio: 5th to chest.

Louis has a sports centre named after him,
At his local Cambridge Regional college;
He’s a C2 para-cyclist, has Cerebral Palsy,
Plus hydrocephalus, was fired by 2012.
So after these very successful Paras 2012,
Louis was tested by British cycling coaches,
Who found talent, skill and hidden strength,
Such that he became part of the GB team.
He made the 2012 Newport Internationals,
Where he won for the individuals, bronze,
Collected a team silver and he progressed,
Onto the Apeldoorn Worlds in Holland.
There he placed fifth in the team sprint,
Came seventh in the long 1km time trial,
And in the individual pursuit came tenth,
To make the Montichiari World Champs.
One gold for the team sprint, one bronze,
For the C1-C5 C2 time trial, and so in Rio
He excelled, taking the team sprint gold,
And the bronze in the C2 individual pursuit.

Whilst Jon-Allan was out Iraq to warfare ban,
In 2007 he sustained an injury, rocket attack,
So that doctors had to amputate his left arm,
But after rehab he continued the sport’s crack.
He’d been a weapons technician in the RAF,
At Basra airbase, and before that Afghanistan,
But he was now on a programme so to quaff,
Any idea that he wasn’t good at cycling’s pun.
He took the limelight at the London games,
When he won three silvers for para-cycling:
One for the C5 Individual Pursuit, sole aims,
One for the mixed team sprint very cunning,
And another silver for the C4-5 1km Time Trial!
Then 2016, and he won gold for the mixed team,
And also a silver medal for the C5 kilo Time Trial
In Montichiari, and so made the Rio GB Team.
