Mama’s chili pot put out a call
Wanting a variety of beans in the fall
Forty-nine types of beans showed up in all
Auditions were conducted by me and Saul
Lima beans were boring, dull and bland.
Chili beans are always close at hand.
Pork and beans were stuck up and snobby.
Garbanzo beans were hard and knobby.
We finally chose six types of beans.
Together they made the chili fit for queens.
Mama’s chili was better than ever before.
We kicked the limas and garbanzos out the door.

In a stew with lots of gravy.
Red and Pink and Black and White.
I scarf em down all day and night.
Garbanzo. Lentil. Kidney. Butter.
Eat em till I'm six feet under.

Rice cakes? Domestic or foreign?
Domestic – aisle seventy-three,
Foreign – aisle seventy-four.
Hearing aids?
Let me look at my map.
They are in aisle twenty-eight.
Lima beans? Kidney beans? Garbanzo beans?
I believe all beans are in aisle fourteen.
There is a display of ham and beans on an end cap.
All electronics are between aisle two hundred
and aisle four hundred and twelve.

Regardless of it is or is not in a grotto
I like a lot of music from the DMV and Chicago
Songs made with many instruments such as the bongo
On any fish, beef or chicken taco
I'll stack toppings like cheese, tomato, sour cream and avocado
Girl didn't know how to cook anything including nachos
She called me el diablo
But never el chapo
At the end of this they're going to hate, or congratulate and say bravo

Could not even take a guess
Did you jump off of a train car?
Are you from the Wild West?
You’re wearing a sombrero
And a pair of running shoes
You’re dancing the bolero
And reading local news
You brought me homemade cookies
And some milk to wash them down
Of course I’ll have some hard candies
