Sam was the fluffiest Tom on the Parisian block
The tittering of females was found around the clock
They came into Starbucks at a quarter until eight
Giggling and gaggling, which he did not appreciate
Give it a rest, Sam thought, as he tried to read his book.
They were older ladies, giving him a “come hither look”.
He was tired of being married, he had done it six times before.
He would always amble home to Mama at a quarter to four.

Mangy-Monkey;
Gum thief.
Raggle-taggle,
Tail-waggle;
Bone-breath.
Gaggling geese,
Webbed feet;
Penny-anney,
Corn-candy.
Snakes-alive,
About five;
Or six,
Playing tricks.
Babbling brook,
Nearby nooks
And crannies;
Harboring teeth.
Fighting bribing,
Monkey-see,
Monkey-do.
Fickle-furred,
Out-turned
Waddle-feet,
Bearing bird.
Roaring-money,
Never tamed;
Hungry for
Avian-brain.
Itchy-scratchy,
Eggy-hatchey;
Teeny-tiny,
Shells cracking.
Tourists gawking,
Feathered-squawking;
Metallic-clanging,
Cage doors.
All this,
Attended quick;
When hungry
Bellies roar.

Sleep, my love, near placid waters
Under a pale moon that lights the way,
Mosquitos resound their ranks to attack
A humble cottage where you and I stay.
I forage through your hair like the tiger
Whilst you rest your head on saffron pillows,
I press my lips hard against thy milky breasts,
Watching your eyes lift to gaggling swallows.
Your resisting thighs give way to my stern will
You make love as burning hearts confess,
Never shall we come again to this sweet valley
Where the fermented nectar of rapture is pressed.
Have I found you forever, O flower of this land?
Hand in hand together, as we jaunt though the sand.

Today, I am neither a Druid nor am I human.
But just a creature of the cosmos exploring.
Today, the sun may not appear, I do not fear.
Today, the clouds may fall heavy on my soul.
Saturated, I find no fire to dry my thoughts.
Today, my feelings are disguised as tenuous geese.
Gaggling at one another to compete for dominion.
Today, I am lost, but found my own ground.
Though floorless it is, I float with every step.
Today, I have realised, that I’m not the only one.
Who has seen beyond this veil that we call life?
Today, is just another day to be grasped in some way.
After today comes the night, and that’s another flight.

The rhythm of a bird’s wing flapping,
The whine of a baby crying,
The melody of crickets chirping,
The gaggling of geese honking,
The rip-roaring of thunder drumming,
The pitter of rain pattering,
Are all symphonic sounds,
Of Mother Nature trumpeting.

I hold her
as she leans back
into me,
standing there
on the gazabo,
among the lilacs,
flowers and willows
by the lake
in the afternoon sun,
as we watch
geese come winging
across the gleaming water,
glide in a line
and swoop to land
in a spray
of silver and gold,
gaggling,
as we gaze,
held there
in the
perfumed light.
