Premium MemberStep Ever So Light - POTD

POTD 7 Oct 2020

Step ever so light
Into this treacherous night
Creatures that abandon the day
come out to play

Hear those June winds howl
To the hoot of an owl
the candle flame flickers
' forewarned is forearmed'
There is corruption at play
In this treacherous night

Step ever so light,
ever so light
The long arm of
equivocation favours
Wrong over Right

As ordered lives fray
The spinning wheel turns
Casting shadows upon
The power of the judge
Will he unravel?
While a Puppeteer
holds the mighty gavel
The blind eye is turned
As the forged scales tip
towards the stolen people
Self-imposing chosen sheeple
To play ball they crawl
The Universal teachings
they fail to recall

In this treacherous night
that steals your Soul
Step ever so light
ever so light

slowly he picks away at the shell of his swathing

          enough shrouded persona

                    the charade had to retreat

                              masquerades are for fools

                                        the wise man moves on

weapons of self-destruction have powerful aims

          delusion deception survival

                    denial protection abidance

                               incisive forearmed scars

                                         harmful mind’s blades

finally he cracks under rapid oncoming fire

          looks into gun barrel’s shine

                      focusses on the target

                                 cradles the trigger

                                           lets go of the pain

Premium MemberBe Warned

I did not heed the warning
I should have stopped to think
It seems trouble finds me
Every time I blink
I cannot take my eyes off you
In case you err again
I did not expect this of you
You are a pain
When you arrived at my door
One misty moisty morning
It was my neighbour
Who gave me this warning
"You don't need a lodger."
Is what she said
Close the door immediately
And go back to bed
I went to close the door
Before looking at your face
You look so forlorn and dirty
An utter disgrace
How could I ignore you
When you looked so sad and lost
I opened the door wide
Without counting the cost
Of what was in store
You walked in like you owned the place
And sat down on the floor
Forewarned is forearmed
That's how the saying goes
The new lodger certainly
Kept me on my toes
He had a huge appetite
And picky what he ate
Causing a fuss if I came in too late
He made a mess
Was clumsy as can be
Who was the chump
Who picked up after him ME
My neighbour had warned me
To think twice about this lodger
Especially one more crafty
Than the Artful Dodger
I did not heed her warning
Because I am smitten
My darling lodger
Is a precious little kitten

I'Ve Got Me

I've got me

My mind and body weary from battles past
a fortress of wisdom yet outlast
Former evil returning to
Destroy and subdue.
My mind alert, in mended form
Forearmed and forewarned.
Prepared and ready
Steadfast and steady
To battle yet once more
the silent , unspoken war.
Sorrow , pain and blood
Faith my protective glove
Solo's wrath a heavy weight
Prepared to face
what seems my fate.
I stand knowing it's horror's
knowing Evil can't be ignored.
Calling to my GOD above
Will I fall or rise above ?
Without fear or fret
Only death can keep me f rom it.
Lord, your will be done
Here I am Lord, the heart of one.
Come what may? whatever will be
I know God, what can man do to me ?
Let the war begin!
I've got me and what exist within!

Premium MemberThe Harlots of Spring

The harlot maples crimson tipped nails
tap, drum, strum, and plunk;
at Aprils blasted blue sky.
Raking a wind born trail
across skeletal palms
and forearmed branches,
in a come-hither dance;
reawakening the cerulean stratus
above the dense sugar maple forest.
Sap taps a tune into tin buckets;
and, so, Spring is sprung.
