Shortest Love Story

Our elbows collided,
'cause my desk is wrong-sided.
Made for a lefty,
When I write
with my right.

Tough to fight,
Difficult to write,
Hard to unscrew, it’s too tight,
Not coke its sprite,
Not tomorrow its tonight,
I am not obese am a couple of pounds light,
It’s dark, shine the light.

Like Hemingway

I passed through Ketchum
Losing my mind
Surrounded by talking walls
One drink turns to a bottle
I try to write
Poetry is poetry
At the moment I drink surrounded by walls and I write" I was here then I was gone"

Do I Remember

I write it, but remember not. I say it, but forget me not. I feel it how it has to come, did I not feel like a perfect bum. So what it is I am trying to remember, my place and where I was December.

Suggestions

Read the poem, and the poet
Paint the roses, and the vase
Envy the role, and the actress
Enjoy the soup, and the dish.

Love the person, not the looks
Miss the kiss, not the lips
Ride the road, not the bike
Smell the ocean, not the fish.

Grow old, but stay calm
Write bold, but speak less
Dream often, but cry more
Hope big, but make one wish.

Lyric Man

Lyric Man oh sweet Lyric Man
Will you write a song with me?

I'm a mere beginner but your lyrics inspire me
I can write poems that rhyme till they come out of my ears
Writing stunning lyrics like yours would simply take me years

Maybe we can get together and have a little play
To write a song with ‘Lyric Man’ would really make my day!

Another One of His Poems

Writing another poem,
he broke my heart again.
Funny,
it’s not from shady actions,
but the love from the amend.

Crying silent tears.
Fresh wound
that never healed.
Got closure,
then he opened
fresh,
quickly broke the seal.

I love him.

I love him.

I can only write those lines.
This is not what I prayed for,
this heartache inside.

The love that used to fix me,
has me too broken to write.

Silhouettes

I'm seeing shadows move across the room,
I'm seeing things that aren't there and things that will never be.
I'm watching our memories flash across the room like a projector.
I sit silent watching your hands caress my face,
I begin to write and your shadow starts to fade..
Then i write and write and continue writing until everything's on paper.
Until there's nothing left to watch dance across the walls,
like silhouttes in the mooonlight.

A Daydreamer

My love my symphony
My Reality
I ponder and wait for your return
To which I worry with concern
It's been far to long this war
My fingers actively write this score
my music inspires hope to your cause
As sleepless nights I long for your touch
Your sacrifices are to much
For your king and country
I wish you could see
That a woman's love needs you
Please keep safe in all you do,
remember to hold my heart in your endeavour
For I will love you forever.

Allow Me

Allow me the pleasure
Of being the one
Who still gets to you
Even under the pressure.

Allow me to be
One of the people
In your life
Whose words you may cite a friendly gesture.

Allow me the liberty
To be young and free, with you
Walking graced in our leisure
We’d hold hands; winds scatter and breeze through.

Allow me to write
A poem about you
Just you!
I'll versify you in my mind’s eye and pen you out
With the most beautiful words so that in spoken word I can finally recite:
I love you.

An Epitaph

I can write about his ideologies
I can tell you how wise he was
I can narrate of his many exploits
I can tell you of the sway he held

Instead i choose to let him rest
Lest i open a well of tears
From the many who adored him
For now he is gone to rest

We are left with his memories
The guiding words and hand
Will always linger with us
Even though you are gone

Eternally you are etched
In our minds never forgotten
Angels attend to you now
Its huge shoes we have to fill

(In memory of my Grandpa)

To He Who Asked Me Why Do I Think Deep

To he who asked me why do I think deep:
Thoughts pile up
One over the other
Forming guarding angels at times of despair
Forming misguiding demons at times of pleasure
Irony, I know, but this is the wisdom
The vision
Be it in the party or
In the gore
What I love is to write it off
Dancing with the rhythm of words
Crying off the agony
Being lost in the ecstasy

Know my friend
There is a way out and
A different way in
Thoughts pile up
One over the other
I make my banquet ready!

The Tooth the Hole Tooth and Nothing But the Tooth - For Victor Buhagiar

Poor Victor began to feel ill When he heard the dentist’s loud drill his knees began to shake But he had bad toothache So he sat in the chair quite still The dentist said “please open wide There’s a dental nurse by your side Your fear we understand And she will hold your hand This won’t hurt a bit”, OUCH… he lied! Posted with permission of Victor who challenged me to write a poem about his recent dental experience … the nurse holding his hand is pure poetic licence 08-10-17

When You Are Around

You are too good too be true
Because you aren’t like the last few
I try so hard not too think of you leaving
Because when i do i end up weeping

You have told me not too worry
but i’m trying too hide that worry
I’m trying my best too look at now
And how happy i am now

When you’re around everything is better
even when i write you these letters
it’s like you are here right by me
I’ve liked you for a long time can’t you see

I wished on a shooting star
but my wish wasn’t that far
my wish was you
but you didn’t have a clue

Base

My new favourite place
To lay here and write
My mind is at ease
No struggle
No fight
My little ones room
While he’s fast asleep
A light in the corner
His breathing so deep
It’s here I find comfort
And peace with the world
This room filled with Lego
And first words we’ve learned
Somehow his kingdom
Makes me feel safe
His four walls protected
The ultimate base
Or maybe it’s him
A hero who’s four
My own little champion
My winner of wars
A moment like this
A second in time
I’ll keep in my heart
This moments mine
????

Barely a Poem

It's lonely out here
I wish I could sleep

I often think there's no one else I can talk to
I appreciate that
I can say anything to you

I used to care about the format of writing
I thought it was just needful
To write with pen and paper
Like how the toilet paper can be hung rightly..

Or wrong

I think about it a lot
Toilet paper

If you do one thing for me you make me strong
Maybe too much

I mostly bluster
But I have good instincts
And I'm cute
So things tend to go my way

Tell me life is long
But tell me when you tell me
We'll be together forever!

My Everything

You are the lyric to my every song,
And my lovely rainbow after a storm.
Without you, my darling, I don’t belong,
In your loving arms, I’m safe and warm.

You are my muse to a passionate write,
The subject of a stunning masterpiece.
Our union has been the ultimate flight,
Now I'm able to breathe; I feel such peace.

You are my spring after a cold season,
Allowing flowers to bloom in my heart.
You are my center and every reason;
That I'm alive, sweetheart, let's never part.

You are pouring rain after a long drought,
Calming my fears and quieting all doubt.

You Have To Hand It To Couched Bandit

You Have to Hand it to Couched Bandit

There's a cat just like me
A couched bandit on the spree
Her raccoon eyes hankering for more grub
... and another belly rub
Did I say with baby oil?
For she pre-purrs to be spoiled
Carte blanche in her pocket
Bells and whistles on her docket
For the remote control is hers
The newspaper she'll read first
The conversation she'll hoard
Wield, wield her mighty sword
Fur, fur the couch is all hers
That ... should I say, she pre-purrs
This epiphany glistens !!!
Honey, honey are you listening?

Twas the Night of a Date

Twas the night of an important date
decided to write while I wait.
Pen and paper, waiting to rhyme,
what will be my first line.
My mind blank, in a stare,
suddenly my words appeared.
Begin to write of love and life.
Knew my poem would come out right.
As I continued to sit in wait,
my lines were forming oh so great.
My mind still wondering as I wrote,
I thought about your note.
In it you said you would not be late,
here I sit thinking of our date.
I hope we grow fond of each other,
maybe we'll become lovers.
Who knows perhaps in life,
we'll become man and wife.
Suddenly you knock on the door,
I finally sit and wait no more.

The Apricot

what will you write of the apricot,
when the fruit has fallen for the last time?

'and the last apricot was
like his last letter
received a decade ago;
that was very little to quench my thirst
but his memories were enough to last for the lifetime'!

He fuel the flames of her esse
He is the essences of her poem
He was in her beneath like inebriation
His philtres and potions arouses welding

"He never returned and how time flies;
The apricot jam spread over the toast was his favourite
The coral fruit enfolded his tastes and touches
And the aroma of the juicy flesh dampen his ardour"
All I remember is 'the apricot and his last letter'.

The Word Love

The word “love” can be meant in so many ways
It can be said at any minute of any day
It can be meant towards a material thing
Like the gift of a necklace or a ring
It can be meant of how one feels towards another
Such as a mother, father, sibling, child, or lover
But as I sit here and think of you
I think the word “love” cannot express my feelings so true
I say it to you so many times
I write it down in so many poetic rhymes
But my feelings surpass any word I can say to you
They cannot even be expressed with anything I do
So please know when the words “I love you” come to you from me
It is meant so much deeper than those simple words seem to mean
