I swear tout de suite,
that...
My noddle ain't petabyte
But just a condign floppy disk.
So I could swiftly flush out some memories,
And retain only what's necessary.
I swear I wanna draft some boundries.
As much as I need a reclying bin, and depositary
In my head.
Once more
she downloads herself
from a long defunct
floppy disk
Her words are even older
they are typed
by a manual typewriter
under an antiquated
ceiling fan
she tries to explain
the inexplicable
as an error
in her programing
her future was not meant to be
her summer
wanted no more winters
I am at the end and the beginning
wedged between
yesterday and tomorrow
I listen and reload
printing my mind with
endless alternatives
more variables
late blooming sorrows
refresh themselves
we both know
that
gone
is timeless
and
forever
always runs late
Never Neglect 2022 Financial Goals

It was that time of year, while thinking resolutions,
we surveyed our problems seeking possible solutions.
We thought anything’s possible, if together, we had a plan,
We made goals not wishes covering a long term span.
On one bathroom mirror I once listed these goals,
both were reminded daily as each played our roles.
We checked net worth yearly, leaving no areas gray,
still thinking early retirement at an opportune day.
But early retirement would require more than saving,
so as novices we started investing money made slaving.
We understood that risk was commensurate with reward,
so we invested weekly in those things once explored.
Soon we were investing in things having more risk,
checking progress monthly storing on a floppy disk.
Often things went against us and didn’t make money,
but we stayed with our goals until they turned sunny.
The stock market is like baseball, some days produce doubt,
“You win some, lose some, and some are rained out.”
God has blessed us greatly and we’ve learned a few tricks,
enabling both to retire early, me at age fifty six.
Yo ! , there’s an old floppy disk
The tunes in it will make you frisk,
The only thing is you gotta be brisk,
To let the tunes let you have whisk ,
This disk is older than a jubilee,
Listening the tunes will be glee,
You will feel like u wanna flee,
Like a caged bird was set free,
The disk have memories everlasting,
In form of photos, videos all casting,
With moments that were so blasting,
Disk is not only about copy, pasting.
Disks are not only about storage,
It is too precious for a exchange,
If it corrupts it becomes garbage,
And you will face a huge damage.

those aren't love songs he wrote
they're computer program notes
I slipped away in the nanosecond
it took him to blink
he doesn't know what hit him
maybe a floppy disk
falling from the sky
then again, it could've been
a hard drive
someone needs to hit his system reset button
it ain't me
some other girl can pickup
his dropped parity bit
or worry if everything she says
is word perfect
I've been through his disk drive wringer
probed by his oscilloscope
and had my best chips blown
now I'm sitting by my abacus
a smile on my lips
he can count me out
no modem's attached to my phone
drop me a line in pencil or ink
when you're powered down
then we can backspace delete
alt control home
I asked my doc if I
were a brilliant moron
or a retarded genius
and he put me through a series of tests
that showed I needed a brainectomy.
I downloaded all my thoughts
onto a floppy disk
and then learned
that the procedure wasn’t covered
by my health care plan.
