Sinking

Weigh me down with stones ...
   fill all the pockets of my gown ...
      I’m going down,
         mad as the world
        

Felicity Gets Married

This is the last poem on the history of Felicity, a person I know from correspondence with a friend abroad.  No relation of mine.

In one year's time, I shall retire
What is there to look for?
Two of my daughters got married.
They live quite far from me.
Only Felicity remains, the middle one,
The one I loved most.

Mind

Felicity On the Brink of Death

Our Felicity knows no rest and was
Often admonished by her Head Nurse.
It happened one day she was out for an errand
When a small boy was admitted to emergency.
With little thought she hurried to help,
forgetting she had no gloves on, nor a face mask.

The boy was very sick and required great care.
The Head Nurse realized something

My Sweet Felicity - POTD

I had three daughters and I loved them all.
And they knew I had the biggest soft spot 
For Felicity, the middle one.   Her grace followed
Everywhere and everyone in the village knew.
Her golden yellow tress, her fluttering eyebrows,
Her small upturned nose enhanced the small sweet lips.
And she was always laughing, affecting everyone.

She found a

Felicity

I named her Felicity.
Don't know why
All babies look the same to me.
Yet she grew up into a lively girl,
so well accomplished.
She learned the piano all by herself.
How I delighted to hear her lento 
and arpeggios.  Heavenly music.
Then she took to singing her own tunes.
Oh, what a delight to my ageing soul.
Such melodies, such delicacies.

That attracts everyone.

 Your manner is sociable, folksy
Intelligent girl, pride of the family

As I talked to you, I started to mesmerize
I was enthralled by the questions you asked
And the way you answered, I was indeed surprised.

With angelic beauty,  you’re the apple of their eyes

Fable of Felicity

In the orchard of opalescence
magnificent myriads of mellows
fervently flow in fountains
breathing beguile blossoms
a forgotten fable ferments,
in haunting hollows I hear.

My heart is a restless garden
with varying pulses of penumbra
conflicts caressing cuddles
tenacious tattered thorns
singing to sumptuous serenades
where brisking bubbles burst
butterflies spread beautiful wings
bees buzzing like ballerinas
to ballads in pirouettes--
a symphony calms my anxieties
descending from azure skies
