Premium MemberSend Us a Miracle

        Today Jews fasted
           cried out to God Almighty
To end the threat of annihilation
           for 2,500 years it’s lasted

        Yesterday it was from Persia
           Today, from Iran
         Send us a miracle ~
           May tomorrow’s threat never come

Premium MemberOn Fasting

Does the feasting of a little cat make a tiger strong?
Does the fasting of a tiger make a plump kitten weak?
Is fasting a righteous rite? Is feasting morally wrong?
Isn't the cleanliness of the heart something one should seek?

Jesus feasted with people and fasted in quietude.
He viewed each being, with a spectacle of optimism.
Pharisees did vice versa, with a cynical attitude.
They were not philanthropic. Their tap root was dogmatism.

We fast, Johanians do too, they trumpeted. Why don't you?
Self-righteousness, like Banyan roots, had deeply tugged at them.
Jesus brought a wedding scene before their distorted view.
Do guests of the wedding fast when the groom is at his helm?

Why patch old cloaks with new ones and fill old skins with new wine?
With new canvas, paint, and brush, why don't we make new design?

Premium MemberJesus Carries The Good News

A land of squeaky-clean beauty, green-carpet trails-reaches,
Natural fountains, streams, rivers, seas, and freshwater lakes
Chinnereth, land of the gentiles, and the way of beaches
Pristine gem stones like rocky, hilly, and mountainous flakes

"How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel -
of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" It's there, indeed.
He walked, bearing good news as Yahweh's true apostle.
Heeding the cries of human beings, he fulfilled their need.

Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Judas Iscariot,
Matthew, Thomas, Judas the Thaddeus, Bartholomew,
James, known as the son of Alpheus, Simon the Zealot,
All flocked from lands and costs, finding in him a newer view.

Like brothers and comrades, they ate, fasted, slept, prayed, and preached.
All who witnessed this felt that God's kingdom on earth had reached

Premium MemberJesus Prepares For His Mission

Deserts, forests, oases, mountains, and valleys called him
The cliffs that touched the skies had mystic wisdom to impart.
Within the waters of the endless Spirit, he must swim.
He should, like the spring sun, shine with Abba's sparks in his heart.

Forty days and nights, he fasted and prayed, the scripture says.
Shouldn't seeds stay in the womb of the soil to be reborn?
The galaxy of Trinity must shred its holy rays.
Earth and sky must meet. Virtues, like flesh and blood, must be worn.

Did the temptation to work wonders for fame win his will?
Did he, like Israel, fail in his love for his father?
Could the urge to act against the scriptures evince its skill?
The furor over the evils, hence, he did not bother

To fulfill the worldly rites, he received John's baptism.
Who did realize, then, that he was beyond any ism?

Premium MemberIgnoring

In that Judaean desert all alone
For forty days and nights Jesus did roam
He fasted on every day of the stay
Ignoring all temptation sent his way.

Though Satan tried in every way he could
His efforts failed, as Jesus knew they would
Though hungry in that hostile wilderness
No law of God would he ever transgress.

Jesus knew that to walk toward God's light
Taking the path that leads one to the right
Guarantees a place in Heaven above
Therein to live forever in God's love.

Thus Jesus ignored Satan's siren song
And taught us to distinguish right from wrong
Teaching us that faith is all humans need
To prepare ignoring sin, hate and greed.

For there's a room prepared for us to dwell
Safe from the devious devil’s dark hell
Faithful believers are led to that place
To embrace the splendour of Heaven’s grace.

The Peasant Suspense

In his weary hour
The legumes blossom on time;
Out of jocundity in honour
Of the beautiful turf
The drowsy peasant peak.

His weird blistered palm blimey,
 His nasty regalia wretched,
He produces plenty and eats small
He produces good and eats bad
 To the nobles he worked,

The dark noxious pest
Ravage and wrest
The peasant-shaddock
This tonic the dressy peasant
 A nocturnal haunter.

This extempore task
 Demoralizes his sinew
 His swansong
Rhythmically envelops
 In serenity and drone.

Each rising smoke
Nervous him to move.
This previous eyes
That know no peace
By the smiling scorching sun.

At the dark hour
He puts on his clogs
And marched to the farm shack
There he finds the beetles
On the yam.

The great anxiety of the peasant
Is the bragging fire of winter
He fasted to lull it
He became gaunt
The sturdy peasant.

The time unknown: the blazing fire
Burnt the bedecked bower
The ranch house and the lettuce
Barefooted staggered him
To the farm with his straw hat
 And met the yelling ashes
The cracking twigs of cocoa plant
The peasant live no day
Longer than that and slept

Another Nashville No No

A Nashville No No

weapons strategy
turned into a travesty
then a tragedy

from window would shoot
she was a cake full of fruit
never gave a hoot

heard that she fasted
way into school had blasted
for a while lasted

will do a favor
after her poor behavior
send to see savior

when we read a book
were several shoots which she took
up whole world she shook

after she awoke
door windows shot out and broke
in blood still bodies soak

after the blood would spurt
was seen on their blouse and shirt
did treat them like dirt

employees were at work
when she had become berserk
dead bodies twitch and jerk

had sent us reeling
would gave a frantic feeling
our heads had hit ceiling

after they did die
no matter how hard we try
will never know why

now that she is gone
our pillow will pray upon
God give us nice new dawn

brain was not intact
she became a maniac
from list name should subtract

Apostasy

The silence between heartbeats
is an abandoned cathedral of old.
As the heat from when hearts meet
Someday leaves me cold.

I sang praises, left offerings on altars
I declared the message for ages,
And swore to never be one who falters,
Stick to the Book; reread the pages.

I fasted for you, daily prayed,
Became your priest with my heart in the trade.
I abandoned all others, in you my life made.
Gave without thinking when you asked for blood paid.

I confessed all things in your box.
Laid myself bare before you
Whipping myself with thorns of what’s true.
And still. You took my tongue and changed the locks.

The silence between heartbeats,
It was once filled with you,
What was roaring with light and heat
You drank; out of me, all life you drew.

The silence between heartbeats
Is an abandoned cathedral of old.
And to enter a church again?
…I don’t think I can be so bold.

Premium MemberFasting For Faith

In deference to her Father, she did not complain.
There was no look on her face that showed any pain.
It was a bit of a sacrifice, but she was totally willing.
She kept to her daily routine, her soul gently filling.

He has done so many things for her, this was okay.
She fasted without sharing the fact, this was her way.
It was between God and her, no one else needed to know.
She was able to march forward with joy, that this was so.

Fasting suited her fine, it was the least she could do.
She owed him so much, this was no big deal to Sue.
She is a pious woman, who wants to give back to her King.
The Father who frankly has given her life and everything.

You Still Left Me

I introduced you to all the significant ones in my life,
....you still left me.

I hosted you with a lot of joy,
....you still left me.

I cut links with all the girls and focused on us,
....you still left me.

I worked so hard and got everything you wanted
....you still left me.

I compromised my principles to make you happy,
....you still left me.

I restricted my interactions and remained faithful to us,
....you still left me.

I bound myself in your ring,
....you still left me.

I smiled at every mockery,
....you still left me.

I faced every embarrassment with courage,
....you still left me.

I remained strong in bed,
....you still left me.

I stooped very low to hold your hand,
....you still left me.

I spent everything I did not have,
....you still left me.

I fasted and prayed for us,
....you still left me.

I sent friends and family to talk to you,
....you still left me.

Only these lessons and more that I learned,
....have never left me.

Lenten Season

It's time for us to contemplate
And search our mortal souls
And ask repentance for our sins
Created long ago

For 40 days and 40 nights
The wilderness He faced
He sought the solitude He'd get
Withdrawn from human race

He thought of all the things He's done
Relived His blessed life
And asked why all these things would cause
Such anger and such strife

He fasted all these forty days
Prayed hard and looked above
Then He returned to His devoted twelve
With adoring endless love

His countenance was changed you see
He knew His coming fate
His entourage was quickly formed
And passed through Jerusalem's gate

He rode upon a donkey
Through a loving cheering throng
Not one who waived a Palm for Him
Thought anything was wrong

Some cried "Hosanna" just for Him
He smiled for all to see
As onward He continued
To meet His destiny

Now is the time for us to go
On solemn bended knee
And bless this fasting Lenten Time
Forgiveness is our plea!

Void Spaces

Since the first bomb blast in my town,
I began talking to winds in strange languages.
Since bayonets had been replaced by rapist-soldiers,
I started building tin-nests on tall branches.
Since bullets became drunk with madness of
Trigger happy men in uniform, I have exiled
My death to another place where love only
Does the killing, where I could die sweetly,
With no feelings of hatred or revenge.
And to bring me back to the land of hypocrites,
Mothers denuded themselves in the market-place,
In broad daylight, and a sister of mine fasted for years,
Only to be discarded as a torn flag after electoral mandates.
Since my kid brother disappeared, without reasons
Or questions,
I keep looking at mirrors, searching for his face which Blurred away in cliched identity cards of a nation,
Where my vers libre floats in void spaces,
Like a stringless kite.

A Family That Gained Peace

Long time ago; in an African land
In a house whose walls with fine flannelette sheets
Whose roof was well made
A house whose floor was well tiled
Lived a family that known no peace

A family that uttered disgusting terms
That could be described by all bad and negative oeuvre
Members so hostile and selfish to each other
Same people very harmless and poltroon
It was a family that known no peace

And now the villagers so tired of it
Many fasted and prayed for it;maybe it was a spiritual issue
Elders gave them infallible advice and cautions
And a glimmer of hope was seen
And that was a family that known no peace

Rate of libido decreased among the sons
Hearts now decorated with pompom
And their old behaviours were becoming a stale
So wise as they were; one word was enough for them
And that was a family gaining peace

Change was becoming a manner; the East met West
As they now hugged each other with love
Holding each other's hands like a handrail
I stood at a distance watching them break their smiles into tears
It was a family that gained peace

Nature

Every blessed dawn sprout a new thought,
Enclosure in fate and earth's brochure,
Coupled with unfriendly events with zipped lips,
Ushering humans into rhetoric dawn.
The culprit wandered lonely like an hungry lion,
He explored the soil with his nose,
Like a bewilder bull that lost its horn,
Just to make life out of the stubborn ground.
He run behind and beyond to observe the nature's food,
He emptied the content of the pen and the sword,
But it seemed all were making lesser sense.
He dived deep into earth's etymology.
Yet,it shrinked duller like a tube,
And gave no impression of friendly fun.
Then he tried the path of religious fact,
He sung and prayed in bright and eventide,
Fasted squarely to create a spiritual link,
To browse the heaven's prosperity without a megabyte.
Now,life seems to smile back at me.
Though,he frown and groan but all seems bright.
The once stubborn ground pour out fortune in its strengths,
The blue sky sings love and lights hope.
He got no more worries because he's got a great company.
On his soft antelope he let open the door of his mouth.
