Fasting For Faith

In deference to her Father, she did not complain.
There was no look on her face that showed any pain.
It was a bit of a sacrifice, but she was totally willing.
She kept to her daily routine, her soul gently filling.

He has done so many things for her, this was okay.
She fasted without sharing the fact, this was her way.
It was between God and her, no one else needed to know.
She was able to march forward with joy, that this was so.

Fasting suited her fine, it was the least she could do.
She owed him so much, this was no big deal to Sue.
She is a pious woman, who wants to give back to her King.
The Father who frankly has given her life and everything.

They say that fasting period, is a great way to stay healthy. Though it never feels like it. Nicely done.

I think I should, maybe, take up fasting. I might drop a few unnecessary pounds. I've never made a connection, however, with it being a God thing. But, that's just me. I didn't grow up in that culture. Hence, I'm fat! (not really)

I know many who swear by this; as a discipline
