Summer is a beautiful season for
'Get-togethers' and Family Reunions.
This poem is dedicated to all such
Gatherings. Happy reunions to all.

FOREVER, from one generation to another

AWESOME, like nothing else in this life

MERCY, like no where else

INSPIRATION begins with family

LOVE, at family like no place else

YESTERDAY is never to be forgotten

Premium MemberTHE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY

No matter what race, there's always family
Nothing else bonds that closeness and love
When life looks gloomy, there's the family
When there's no where to go, you have family

Families are rich, families are poor
Some of us have those close knit families
Then there are those from broken homes
Without unity of family, exist many problems

In today's society, it's self evident that
Though many problems exist, and growing fast
This family suffers from "broken homes blues"
However, they are still family

As a people, we mirror our environment
Seeing and living one kind of life
Being blinded from life's realities
This is, the importance of family

Premium MemberPositive Ponderings for Poets

Oh do, let us dream, Lord, of a peaceful and shining, promising day.
To realize the value of poets we know, and incude the ignored or unknown!
Refusing the faces of negativity, humbly walking in your ways, shown.
Always remind us, please, to go to the light, where thy glory, doth lay!

I realize that not all of us have a family to sit down and have a dinner to share.
But if you do, light your candles to make this confused world, radiantly bright!
After dinner, go to the family window forthwith, inhale Spring’s sweetest night.
See your silhouettes in the moonlight, on a tender carpet on this evening rare!

I waited as tears
wallowed, how so can it be e'er
so, e'er different
tears are the depth of you
it empties from
the void
the absence
of them
I need them
in to my life
there the abyss
the hollow
the echoing
they are so vivid
I live for them
I miss them
it's less than
four minutes till
the year twenty-twenty four
who knew
Brothers first
but Dad between Brothers
a Sister
then Mom
then Sisters
one minute
less than
and less
fireworks outside
more and more
I turned
midnight
Hawaii
Aloha
my family ...
12:01 a.m.
Hilo, Hawaii
cemetery uphill
they can hear it too
they see me
just plain
simple
no drama
I'm smiling
I smile
for my son
I smile
for them

A righteous reward harvesting,
one mind in accord gathering,
the autumn seasoning succeeds,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

Induced to wake and chase the sun
as day's light trim will soon outrun,
prayer that lengthen intercedes,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

The market is a lively place,
as empty shelves are filled with grace,
as farmers glee fulfilling needs,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

A good day greets a setting sun,
the barn door's closed seems all is done,
the pastures gleaned as breath recedes,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

A washed soul grasps a warm embrace,
shared labored love well set in place,
feast awaits as prayer precedes,
true love holds to the prayer beads.

Premium MemberAll the While You'Re So Pretty

All the while you're so pretty
Making everyone smile all in line
With you we stay all day plenty
Our hearts you strum like a guitar

We never asked any piece of you
All the while you're so pretty
Showing simple things that delight us
Blowing bubbles of laughter that relieve us

Each morning you come out like a clown
You always make us whole, not frown
All the while you're so pretty
Pretty in many ways, keeping us so jolly

Each night your brilliance never fades
In and out your goodbye never bades
Coming back and seeing us, making us all pretty
All the while you're so pretty

Premium MemberWomen In My Family

Women in my Family…
Our only family that’s left
Mothers all are we
Elevated in the blessed
Nurturing of our children and

Inspiring them to be their best
Nice and kind to others

Making sure they know the Bible
Yearning for them to dwell with God

Family includes all races and creeds
Allowing for religious diversity
Memorizing the teachings of Jesus
I was taught this way and
Like my mother our traditions stand
Year after year, forever

To This Garden
 by M. Griswold

To this garden I will feed and tend.
Without ceasing, without any end.
Toiling ever in love’s sweet labor.
Minding not of sacrifice’s ill flavor.

Daily, I will pluck out unwanted weeds.
Then gently caress the newborn seeds.
Watering and pampering their every need.
To maturity I, this garden, will always feed.

Weathering storms of darkened skies.
Shielding the winds of wilting demise.
Protecting always this garden's pure flower.
Armored with love's full blooming power.

For it's our future, this garden, you see.
Our dreams, our wishes, our rhapsody.
To this garden of love, I will attend.
Without ceasing, without end.

Premium MemberA Family

A family by blood and some not of blood, but a family of love and compassion. A family that lifts your self-esteem with truth and inspiration. A family that always stands by your side no matter if the sea is calm or madden with torrent waves. 1/13/2020
