I’m in a kaleidoscope at the park
colors… whirling… leaves… twirling
An outpouring of glitter sprinkles and sparkles
a wind whipping through everglades
O, for the afternoon to never grow dark!

You are a water lily in a wetland,
The scholars surround you,
They did not expect to find beauty,
In a place like this,
Where did you come from?
With your eyes greyer than glass,
And your mind like the sun,
You cast your spell,
Without even lifting one of your lovely fingers,
Nor raising your soothing voice,
A girl looks at you dreamily,
Struggling to ask you the right questions,
About the things you love,
To hold your attention,
And you are so humble in your wisdom,
Your friend embraces you,
After not seeing you for a week,
As though reuniting with a part of his own soul,
And they all pass books in ancient languages,
Into your lovely hands that seem to have been made for strumming lyres,
You dwell on words they'll never understand,
Until you emerge,
With your hunger for meaning quenched,
They watch as you glow,
And they too are satifised,
for they live to make you smile

There is a classy duck with yellow shades.
He dances with quivering quaking shoulder blades.
We saw him down by the everglades.
I wonder if he would take some trades?

In the hari-kari palisades
drink of choice, lemonade
Enter the lion-plated stadium
a cache discovered, puranium
Up here, down there, all's a riot
in the center, suffocation-quiet
Where you've been and where you're going
robotic monkeys perfect their sewing
Ticking squirt guns shpritz their stuff
H2O everywhere, lawns a-fluff
And in the hari-kari palace, aides
drink in the view, cascades of everglades

Through the Autumn storms
Blue children with seeming smiles
sings to the Angels
To the everglades
the children play
in the cove of the cave
Like bedrock
They are raised on hope
Solitude ponders the darker hues
feed by paths unexplored

in the Everglades there are dangers galore
alligators, crocs, rattlesnakes, and many more….
a cottonmouth aka water moccasin would scare me back to my car
could be bitten by a brown recluse, looking for its violin scar
baby florida panther might entice me with his blue eyes
here comes mama cougar all grown, what an unfortunate surprise!
Burmese python is coming quickly to constrict out my lunch
It is too late to run, I know this is more than a hunch
a red snake, how delightful, uh-oh, I see his fluorescent yellow
I know now he is an eastern coral, a most venomous fellow
where are the black bears? Would they save me? Do you know?
I have heard they only eat plants and garbage litterbugs throw
Is that an alligator or a crocodile? Dare I get near its weird hump?
oh, yes, it’s the big one, so it’s a croc, and they can both jump!
I hear a rattling, and know I am about to be some animal’s lunch
Florida swamps are dangerous. This is more than a hunch.

Fields of spun gold silk somber auburn shades
Resonant a hum breath yawn against blades.
Wiff of cool air espy hush cries cascades
Dry in silence nature's quaint everglades.
Weft of rain lingers round as slow rhythm fades.
Mystique wakeful light of dawn serenades
While the warm sun rises, the bullfrog wades,
Small blue heron stand watch like waiting maids.

a faint booming note
deep in the everglades marsh ~
a bird seldom seen
it's distinctive call
like a pebble drop in stream ~
elusive bittern

We marched down to the meadow to watch the witches dance.
Their bonfire was popping and crackling, you could hear it in France.
I was so excited; my feet were doing a skipping kind of prance.
I had never seen the annual Halloween festival’s witch’s dance.
The ghosts and ghouls were standing around peeking at the thrall.
There were all kinds of witches, dressed in finery from the mall.
Welcome one and welcome all! Said the head witch, brave and tall.
The dance started, and the meadow gleamed. I felt suddenly kind of small.
I hid in the shadows with the ghosts and the ghouls, feeling afraid.
They are the weirdest creatures from here to the Florida everglades.
This was said by a ghost who his friend called Slade.
I tried to sneak away but got caught by a ghoul in the shade.

How do you do?
I missed you.
Day and night
In every twilight
Never wane about you.
Gliding in the snow,
like you always do
In the middle of the Alps
Not between gaps
Sceneries of you
are my portrait.
In every eclipse
Dashing to the strait
Everglades wrap up my glimpse
Mementos of nexus
Yonder of hiatus.
Shimmer of yoke
Exalting joke.
Leverage of time
Fantasy of mime

Roses, flowers and bouquets
Love, Honor, Peace and Respect
Verses, poems and literature
Spring, wind and nature
You are psychologically ill
You are as violent as an eel.
Everything bores you in the Everglades
Or nothing seems easy in this deleterious
And lysergic exosphere. Everything bores
You : kisses, hugs, balls and nightly serenades
Hymns, chants and songs and choruses
How sad, this season, you’re worse.

Queen of Cats dancing your feline fling
What other joys will your exuberance bring?
I watch your partner as he gives you a swing.
He wants your attention, but you have to ring.
Queen of Cats in your harem of maids.
Safe in the palace, far from the evil everglades.
I hope things work out for you in your suit of spades.
Things are notoriously suspicious; will she make the grades?

Can faeries be steampunk? The young designer asked.
I do not see why, said a mechanical man, unmasked.
She came to the next convention in Cosmo play.
Which blew the rest of us clean away.
She is the most magnificent steampunk faerie we’ve seen.
She exudes mystical magic like a steampunk moonbeam.
We now follow her around; she leads all of our parades.
Just a young girl with an imagination from the everglades.

Amber of golden flakes wither to a crisp
And green vines slither up the tree's limb.
Hills flourish up around like a wind's cold wisp
That leaves nothing more than this Grim.
Wrenched cries have eternalized
Its great wrath to say the very least.
How must this loving soul be fertilised?
For faults subsided have been released.
Vast gray savannas gloom the soul's tongue.
Rolling fogs cross lands, fearing nothing to bloom.
A deep abyss that cleanses your minds of gloom,
Fork the everglades to trench the spirit unrung.

Alberta…..they probably just shook their heads and muttered “ey?”
Texas…probably rode it down, roped it, branded it and sent it on its way.
Florida….they probably took it fishing... in the Everglades…’nuf said!
