I'm a masterpiece forged by God
likened to His Son the Christ
molded and enfolded to permeate Him
In every aspect of my life
and as a creation of God
of Him I simply ask
allow me to recognize my purpose
equip me for the task
now ready to do good works
which for me You've ordained
now God powered, God planned
and godly proclaimed
and as a creation of God
of Him I simply ask
allow me to recognize my purpose
equip me for the task
Your salvation has delivered me
by Your grace, I've been transformed
equipped for the task that You've prepared
for me to perform
wonderfully made
by Your mighty hands
ready for my mission
on Your word I now stand
and as a creation of God
of Him I simply ask
allow me to recognize my purpose
equip me for the task
God powered, God planned
and godly proclaimed
equipped for the task
which for me You've ordained
and as a creation of God
of Him I simply ask
Lord help me recognize my life's purpose
And please equip me for the task
If I had a gift
Well would I be
Well equipped
To make you see
I am nothing
But a broken being
Stuck on what
I’m seeing
Shane Blaine walked with a swagger
and was viewed as a bragger.
Ladies liked him lots
but kept secret their thoughts.
Awed by his eight-inch dagger.
Elephants Are Well-Equipped
For everything, Elephants are well-equipped
Great grip on ground and have never slipped
So gigantic and even someone proposes
With mighty memory lets call him Grandpa Moses.
Moses's nose is so long and still very elegant
What would you expect from a wonderful elephant?
Regardless of wild woman and a mindful man
Never can claim to be Democrat or Republican.
Side is big and know which one they are on
Even if coming, been here or already gone
Attempts to corral him may prove to be feudal
One thing for sure though, won't flip his noodle.
James Thomas Horn
I’ve already packed
Everything you need
For your trip, Little One.
“Yes,” she said,
“But I’ve never been
To Chicago before,
And I just might need
My old hairbrush
And this book I used to like,
And…” it all went
Into her backpack
I smiled then
And again later
As we walked the long concourse.
Steps faltered
And tears of fatigue flowed
Down my daughter’s face
Until a loving elder brother
Took the unnecessary burden
So we all
Could make our plane.
I shoulder my own
Unwieldy baggage,
And trudge with faltering step,
Tears of frustration
And fatigue
Rolling down my face.
I fail to acknowledge
That Father has sent me
Already fully equipped,
And I’m reluctant to release
My unnecessary burden
To the Brother who
Would carry it for me.
And in my obstinance
I just might miss
My flight!
As we traveled together in directions we didn’t really know;
I believed with everything I was that you and I were meant to be.
But I kept you tethered and I was angry that you slowed me down
I didn’t realize how living like that could end so badly.
Of course I’m sorry and I’ve tossed away that rope of obedience;
I had it tied to my own neck as well and we both suffered for it
I see now that if you try to own anything, owning will own you.
But now my respect for you keeps me on the outside looking in.
There’s a lot of twisting roads in this life and I’m certainly on one;
But regardless of what I do I will always love you for trying.
You weren’t wrong to choose me it’s just that I loved like a coward
But I’m braver now even though there are still no guarantees.
Holy verse, subject to human
interpretation, holds only shards
of insight into divine wisdom
leaving us ill-equipped, in our
imperfection, to truly
know the mind of God.
And in our imperfect state we
have been granted the use of
only a small percentage of our
miraculous minds because we
are wisely given only that
which we can reasonably handle.
So how is it we lack humility,
claiming infallible knowledge
of sovereign will and law?
And why is faith confused
with fact when there is no
evidence to support it?
Still, self-righteous zealots
peddle pre-packaged religion
complete with divine amnesty
if you 'act now'
and warning labels
for those who refuse to buy.
We are all unqualified
to say who is right
and who is wrong.
And not one of us
is fit to know who
lacks divine approval.
To disagree is not a sin.
But to condemn another
is to usurp the throne of God.
Our bodies are ships going with the tide.
The peaks and valleys that we all must ride.
Riding the waves being tossed to and fro.
Moving with the current, or ebb and flow.
If all hope is lost, and your faith is short.
What about love, if the soul is in port?
Go and remove the barnacles of sin.
Merely waiting for our ship to come in.
Suspended in dry dock; good time to pray.
You've been restored, go back to work and play.
Sometimes at the bow, sometimes at the stern.
Sometimes below deck, from all these we learn.
