Premium MemberScreen of Awareness

Once God has breathed life to everyone
His spirit enkindled in our soul and mind
And as He created us in his image and likeness
His divine gift was instilled, our screen of awareness.

Screen of awareness is ever present
It’s a bright torch and voice of our conscience
A seed of wisdom for us to think and perceive
Bequeathed to us as well by Adam and Eve.

It’s an ageless possession of human nature
Instinctively generates, as our Father God nurtures
When the screen of awareness show us with no shadow
A mirror of light shines, we can reflect, ponder...follow.

Oh dreamy lass of fragrant wiles,
            a parasol of white unfurled..
your bloom beguiles her moonlight miles,
a mirror pale in petals whorled.
Her face in phases does allure
and casts enchantment not demure,
yet bud’s flirtation just as sure;
      a flower-moon on long stem’s dance
with wind in sweep and sway romance,
                        vanilla toffee scent does prance
beyond the buxom moon all smiles
as incense wafts from airstream’s world
and paramours does damsel lure —
            enkindled moths in nectar trance.

Fire On the River

The boat rocks gently under a reddening sun,
is it wrong to wish for a Viking burial,
to ponder a last journey West
into the dying light?

I could rest my soul here in this skiff
on this one long warm wave of evening;
let the wooded lands and sloping meadows,
the coal-stacked barges, the brimming ports,
all the patched up river towns slip on by
under the flaring sails of evening clouds.

To watch as night slips into the river,
to be a dark swimmer,
then to ponder a burning boat
surfacing from the depth
of my enkindled imagination.

A Kind of Pygmalion

He had a Galatea named Deidre.
His plastic inamorata.

Considering his advanced age
she was also his Lolita.

Deidre and he would climax together.
while he played his essential part.
For a while he sparked and enkindled.

Canoodling in domestic bliss,
he would dress her,
paint her toenails, apply makeup;
see to her every need.

It seemed to him
that Deidre’s sexual demands
grew stronger.
He lost sleep, grew weak of limb,
his health failed,
until he could no longer manage
for himself.

In the end
she had to carry him everywhere
like a doll.

I cannot fault my destiny
As the candle I awaken with my fire
Burns with flames enkindled by desire
To an end I cannot see

Silhouette

A hundred times too many,
I'd done it before.
Only thing is that :
I couldn't take any more.
I was always told that ,
"Pride comes before the fall."
I couldn't even go on .
Let alone stand tall so I could fall.

Now my destiny's linked to the stars,
But its not astronomical.
Unlike others:
I'm propelled forward by the pain and scars.
Long ago my life stopped being logical.
My outlook on life's no longer lackadaisical.

I was a child of light before,
But I got hit by wave after wave,
Of darkness !
While I stood on this shore.
That's when the idea flickered to life,
Then Died !
"It's time to join what's drowning me,"
"For sure"

I am now a fraction of what I was before.
It's not the true me...
Or so I was told
Human intuition told me,
"Make fire when it's cold"
So I enkindled dreams and ambition to drive me
To get rid of the me of old

Now I shuffle through the shadows .
I'm a shade-shrouded silhouette of my true being.
I don't know how I've pushed on this long,
As time tediously ticked on !

Anger

This seething rage consumes me,
Flows through my veins like poison
Controlling my emotions and body with no mercy
Leaving me helpless and feeble in my soul

Is this loathing one that makes me powerful?
Or one that endangers the ones I love?
For this is the real question
I wish to ask to the heavens above

Dear lord, what is this envy and rage
Which inspires me to do the unthinkable?
Damage, create, neglect and hate;
A toxic but indescribable feeling

The fire I have enkindled burns red before my eyes,
With a greater fury than I have yet fostered
My voice aches with the desire to insult with spite,
Yet my mind seems to turn away

This rage haunts me every second of the day
When will this chaos end?
Violence and war follow in its footsteps
But my unwavering anger does not bend.

Revelation

You have ignited a great fire in me
This love affair I could not conceive
All of the normality I have believed
Seems to be a false pretense
You revealed to me
The authentic process of sentiment
My introspective is always of you
Never in several centuries
Did I think these emotions
Would develop to be factual
This feels so natural
You have revealed a creditable future
The thought of being hurt again
Is only an illusion ...of the past
Not sure if I’m ready for this task
Of a flourishing relationship
And having your love
As if it was sent from above
You have enkindled this
Abundant fire in me
Thank you for healing me

Cool Passion

{He}

Moisture wells from in to out

The sky drapes its dress

Quiescently, you tilt your head and pout

Your shoulder kisses a tiny tress

Vapor is breathed on the glass

A tantalizing blaze flaring from behind

Fumbling your hair into a clump of morass

Skintight, our souls entwined

As we sublime seconds quicker than a blink

your heart throbs, I flutter

and let out a soft whine in sync

I remember you like the taste of butter

{She}

An icy hot bath melts

our raw hearts transpire

roses are planted all over your svelte

body as my undying desire

Gases gushes out from my pore

as we boil ourselves a temperature too high

my teeth still sizzle and I am ready to roar

hereby you lean in and charge my oversupply

Maybe I need a cup of water

to dilute the enkindled fire,

or else a lamb to the slaughter

could be me stuck with a liar

A Smile of Tears

A SMILE OF TEARS
I wish I could catch a star
was the voice I heard as I sat on the grass
I look through the meadow
all I could see was her shadow
Walking up close
her mouth ajar, I could see her white teeth
A gash on the left side of her face
she touched, felt with a loud wail.
Her heart bitter
	I could see its emptiness
Sickly, she stole a glance at me
like a dog peeping through a window
All tears, she shook bitterly
even though her eyes were hard as flint
Sitting next to her, like a couple on a date
I hold her arm and lo! Soft was its feel.
Sullen, heartbroken, painfully
	she smiled at me sweetly
On the wet grass sitting
together arm in arm we gaze into space
the air cool, calm
even though it was covered in a haze
face clouded with tears, gay with life
I could see smiles setting on her left cheek
Happily, I smile back knowing
I had enkindled the hope she had lost in the murk.

Premium MemberThe Flame

PROLOGUE
The Flame, aflicker, licks and flays,
illuming evening’s negligees
With braided curls she swirls and sways,
and flits and floats in light ballets

           APOLOGUE
A Flame, to conquer creeping fog,
flew dancing towards a random log
Her flight perplexed a leery frog
beside a silent somber bog

The Flame, a ripple, all alone
alit on leaves where birds had flown
The aching twigs began to moan
A rising breeze began to groan

The Flame arrayed an ancient oak
with torrid tongues and veils of smoke
A beaver bailed, the dam had broke
The leery frog soon ceased to croak

The Flame uncoiled and lashed midair,
consuming crowns with utmost care
A crazed coyote fled her lair,
left in the lurch bewildered bear

The Flame, unfurled, went wild and grew,
enkindled cats and caribou
Remaining... not a residue,
as reeking vapors bade adieu

The Flame revealed her strength unshackled
Flora, fauna crisped and crackled
Fire Witches clucked and cackled
One more forest stripped, then hackled

           EPILOGUE
The arsonists were well aware
the Flame would travel everywhere
The weirs are gone, the land is bare,
and soon you’ll find a city there

Night To Day

Night to day

Night to day

Give us the night this star possessed,
When darkness holds desires,
For spirits heed the softer strains
That time could not abandon;
And trapped are we in this time of change
Where moonshine ignites the darkness,
But who shall light our path of tread
In a serenity of the solitude

I sleep in wait till daylight breaks
And dreams are dead and gone,
Until what is held ‘tween sound and lights
Enkindled the quiet dawn;
Conceived is not our lost intent,
Nor the indifference of the light,
But all is past when thoughts remain
In the sunlit beams of day

The Cradle of Thy Ember

Yet another bleak bewitching winter
claws across our windowsill;
we quickly shut the icing panes
to exorcise his curs'd chill.

We were well aware his breath could render
life itself to frigid ash,
but we were also well assured
our charcoal child, with him, would clash:

He arises from our homely ember
infantile at first, his light;
though as the evening sun subsides,
he rears his flames to quell the night.

And again the winter must surrender
to his incandescent palms,
the warmth of his enkindled tongues
and fervor from his flick'ring psalms.

O messiah, suckle in the timber
and the quivers we bequeath;
we mass about thy cradled fire--
baptize us with thy bless'd heat!
