Canon Ef Slr

Hey Lord won't you let me
use my Canon EF
Its one of my collections best
with copal platinum blades
shooting at 1/60 of a second
to stop camera shake
at focal length of 50mm,
setting my aperture on auto
ranging from F 4 to F11
vertical horizontal pictures galore
With stepped gears
you're supremely shutter priority
to last for years

EF-0 Squall

"I bet it bothers you that at my weakest,
I am still stronger than you."

This quote is widely spread
may have been said first by Nero.
Winded by narcissism,
this squall might rank - EF-0
Weakened by arrogance, it does no damage
compare it to the Spanish dinero.
obsolete!

Nothing Normal

I miss normalcy
or whatever she is calling herself these days

screams from the bedroom
painted pestiferous in pantomime
ripping chests open,
round and ripe
taking bullets to the throat

mouthed dialogue
indulging in delight
bloodlet and bountiful

night she looked away

I miss those echoes,
eruptions of elegance
howling euphorically, (ef)faced
dripping in yesterday's sin
naked in the eye of the Tyrrhenian sea
wave upon wave washing over, we
us, in throes of once

call out
in tongues of more
than just a humble servant
a savant unleashed in a realm of impossibility

the hymns hold it all
sing, sing, sing
the hymns hold it all

Ejection Fraction

Step down from your
ego. The brain dead has-
left a lesson.

Left a lesson, the brain dead.
Will you measure the
EF before the cardiac arrest ?

Sexing an issue
of dented verbs, why
do you need a defence ?

The numbers are climbing.
You have entered-
a high risk zone,

of killing yourself.
Give me a ghost writer, I
need an art, not a duplicate.

Spring's End

Spring bellows plainly throughout the mid-west
Tornado Alley endures
the voice of EF-4’s.

Tornado Season Approaching

Tornado Season Approaching

By Elton Camp

Winter weather seems to be holding on
But, before much longer, it will be gone

What a great relief it will be
Warm, sunny weather to see

But just hold on a minute there
Again will come a cause for care

Conditions for tornadoes will prevail
Pouring rain, twisting wind and hail

Snow or ice may cause us to slip and fall
A tornado can destroy us, house, and all

The fearful announcement may we not hear
This is a tornado warning, for a storm is near

If it should strike with a force of EF 3 or 4
Get underground or you may live no more

If the funnel and a debris cloud head your way
Go into the basement, cover your head, & pray

Delightful Times

Delightful Times
(Ameri-Sonnet)

I love a cozy fireplace
always brings such a delight
with things that make my heart race
in the wonderland of white.

Snuggling up in bed at night
inside away from the storm,
after turning of the light
the down blankets keep us warm.

No other place brings more calm
there is the time full with dreams,
Some dreams have a lovely charm
but not always what it seems.

With special roots that are deep
sometimes for joy makes me weep.

Stormy Weather On the Way

Stormy Weather is on the Way

By Elton Camp

The weather service says to be on the alert
A front approaches that could cause hurt
Heavy wind, torrential rain and large hail
So I certainly hope this forecast will fail

A tornado, a thunder storm may envelop
We must be aware that such might develop
It begins at midnight, the forecast said
It sounds ominous—something to dread

Right on schedule, rain began to descend
Another uneasy night we will have to spend
Near here there has occurred an EF-Five
And many neighbors are no longer alive

Storm forecasts I previously tended to ignore
But I most surely won’t do that way anymore
Lightning begins to flash from the west
That’s the direction storms come the best

The weather radio begin to loudly blare
“Radar has spotted a rotation out there.”
I uneasily review my home tornado plan
To protect my family, I’ll do what I can

An inside hallway seems our best bet
For I haven’t installed a storm shelter yet
I hope the storm won’t do what’s been told
Yet again, lightning flashed, thunder rolled

The Year of the Tornadoes--2011

The Year of the Tornadoes—2011

By Elton Camp

Tornadoes are a natural force everyone hates
It’s part of life for us living in the United States
Other countries also have these storms to fear,
But the vast majority of them occur right here

Deaths from tornadoes have been in sharp decline
Because advance warnings have become so fine
Such deaths this year, we have almost seen more
Than there were in the ten years that went before

Not only that of tornadoes there have been more
But we have had more powerful ones than before
It is quite difficult, even with warning, to stay alive
In a tornado rated as being either EF-4 or EF-5

In addition, many of the storms have been wide
And for a very long time on ground they do abide
They also haven’t stayed mainly in the countryside
But have hit cities and towns where thousands reside

We may not have heard the last of this terrible thing
How many more will this year yet have to bring?
So before the next Super Outbreak comes around,
I’m thinking about digging a hole in the ground

Power Play

The Aye See See,
Demands! All rogues to the Hague!
Not so! Argues Ay You,
Our justice is tribune and divine,
Yours - archaic and Roman!
With insolent rage she defies,
And vows to send all her rogues,
Not to the Hague, but to her courts!
And insists - they alone can judge!
You Es Ay bellows and threatens!
Amidst the furore Aye Am Ef,
Her funds she withdraws,
But to no avail, Ay You sticks to her guns!
And insists, when it comes to her rogues,
She alone is sovereign!
Stunned, they seek a You En resolution,
Which only You Es Ay can enforce!

Natural Disters Can Strike Anyone

Natural Disasters Can Strike Anyone

By Elton Camp

Here in North Alabama, many are no longer alive
After an encounter with a tornado that’s rated EF-5
Killed were a second grade teacher and her mother
A handsome ten-year-old little boy was yet another

Grandparents died, grandchildren trying to protect
To parents of a one-year-old, tornado fury did direct
Those now dead were, at the time, in the wrong spot
It wasn’t a thing they did wrong or that they did not

Natural disasters strike both the bad and the good
Very often even those who did all that they could
Both alertness and following a tornado safety plan
In such a storm fails unless underground you ran

Well-built homes in this tornado were swept aside
Houses, possessions, jobs lost and so many died
Those of us who survived have a duty, though
Love and generosity for our neighbors to show

Future violent tornadoes can surely be expected
All of us should do what we can to be protected
That it may not be enough has been demonstrated
In this horrendous, true story that’s here related
