Indeed dear readers, there is such a book.. Yet
In my deepest boredom, I have never looked.’
Foresooth and in truth; it’s been fifty years.?since
I glanced in his direction..I’ve no desire now to
Subject any ears’ though they be of barley.?
Or even corn.. I bind to no disputed lyric
Origens I’d druther indeed be forelorn. Cast on
An isle barren and sad.. Than laud disputed
Lyrics if you like your truth’s to be had.?

Sittin’ in th’ saddle. Gotta soon skedaddle.
School marm says she’ll tattle. Sheriff wants a battle.
Kissed her on the cheek jes’ to git a li’l peek
at her widow’s peak ‘cause she’s purty an’ petite.

Gotta hankerin’ to git off ol’ Buck and sit
a spell afore I quit and have a chaw to spit.
Cogitatin’ and bidin’ time afore ridin’
down that canyon hidin’ lest I git a chidin’.

Starin’ out blinkin’, doin’ some proper thinkin’
‘bout the stars a twinklin’ and my heavy drinkin’.
My casual, carousin’ rife, hidin’ from the strife
of settlin’ down my life an’ takin’ on a wife.

Soon I’ll fergit the threat, fergit my social debt
I don’t wanna sweat dirt jes’ to pay a moral bet
farmin’ unfertile land, or workin’ for the man.
Druther take a stand and work as lonely cowhand.

Might as well admit it, I’m a social misfit.
Don’t wanna submit it, or give up an’ quit it.
Searchin’ but cain’t seem to find comfort in my mind.
Guess it’s ’bout time I recognize I’m doin’ jes’ fine.

Premium MemberFiscal Calisthenics Or the Bill Paying Blues

The thing I least look forward to,
The root of my financial ills,
Is the vile administration
Of my monthly pile of bills.

You'd think a single guy like me,
Whose needs and wants are all but nil,
Could whiz through funds manipulation
When it comes to paying bills.

It's the interest on the principal
Of credit card accounts that kills
And perpetuates extenuation
Of MasterCard and Visa bills.

Man cannot live by cash alone,
Hence the propensity of credit mills,
And the gross accumulation
Of large revolving charges bills.

But when statements say there's naught to pay,
Oh, how that "zero balance" thrills!
No refund as remuneration,
Just dismissed from that long list of bills.

My credit's good, I shouldn't brood
Upon this fiscal tribulation,
But if I had my druthers,
I'd druther hide out in the hills
Than face the monthly calculation
Of my bills, bills, bills.

Premium MemberThe Ultimate Dwarf Eater

Who is that guy? The dinosaur maids asked each other.
He’s the ultimate dwarf eater said one. He is my brother.
They each wanted to take him home to their mother.
But he stayed single, for it was his “druther”.

Premium MemberThe Better Punishment

There once was a troublesome brother
Who was mean to his dear old mother
She paddled him hard
Out in the back yard
Better a paddling than the druther.

Premium MemberBobby May

He calls me Sis and he Big Brother
His muse is sweet won’t ever smother
Kindred spirit of one another
Joyful kindness is his druther
He spreads cheer like no other
With silly rants he’d never bother
Bobby May’s my favorite brother
From another universal mother

Unheard Of

i thought a thought from thoughtless see
quite like the naught from naughtless me
thinking that the thin king's way
begins the year the fifth of may
the better thus to better be
one and all and ever we

and then i thought a thought another
what day 'twould be did dare i druther
thirteen months instead of twelve
as once it was when we were selve
four weeks of seven, eight and twenty
days a month, the perfect plenty

leaving one, the nothing day
the day that some call christmas, pray
to bind the year ring of the sun
the diamond way, the twinkle one

the tides of women and the sea
the goddess moon, the mystery
the lightning lit, the storied sky
'twas how i thoughtless thought to pry
the right to wright the written word of
light and life and love unheard of

A Collection of Oxymorons

A Collection of Oxymorons

By Elton Camp

When contradictory terms appear side-by-side,
We recognize that an oxymoron the writer tried

An “Open secret” really can’t be
“Larger half” is an impossibility

“Act naturally” just has to be fake
“Deafening silence” sense can’t make

“Microsoft Works” is just a big joke
But Apple users won’t have to choke

“Jumbo shrimp” would be something to see
“Pretty ugly” seems highly unlikely to me

“Exact estimate” contradict each other
To defend “rolling stop” I had druther

“Only choice” means one thing to do
So how can “choice” then be true?

Think about meaning of a “fine mess”
That’s it’s contradictory you will confess

So two things have “about equal” worth?
It’d be like a “just war” here on the earth

“One of the only” we hear all of the time
“Accurate horoscope” so says a ball of slime

A “bankrupt millionaire” can’t really exist
A “calm storm” would be too easily missed

If your favorite oxymoron doesn’t appear,
Please send me an e-mail and let me hear
