Premium MemberThank you God for Dogs

Just leave them alone. They will be fine.
If I had a dollar for every time I heard that one
I would have enough money to buy a new coat.
I could buy one anyway, but I love my coat.
It is a fake fur, all black, I have had it eighteen years.
It looks brand new, so the $120 was worth it.
Thank you JC Penney’s.

Just let them be; life will happen, there is nothing you can do about it.
What is wrong with these creepsters?
Do they not know that I want to control my children and my pets.
I realize now that it was a futile idyllic thought, but makes no sense.
Controlling children is doable in a bit of a regard but only for a few years.
For they were born with minds of their own.
My pets are as wild and undisciplined as my children.
I love them all the same.
But my pets seem to love me more.
Thank you, God, for dogs.

Premium Memberyou think that is doable

There were forty-three pros
So that is do-able, right?
The job coach gave Harry the knowing look.
How many cons were there?

He pretended to search for the answer.
One hundred and fifty-three cons, he replied.
All of her tips should have him realizing one thing.
She said “You thought that was do-able?”

“I think I can make it work,” he replied.
A job-taker who almost never keeps the job he takes.

Expensive Truth

Thought doesn’t make any difference,
Or it does? It does in you!
and a bit in others too.
There is no end however,
To this, to that; Oh! Forever!
Why you want an end?
What’s that you want to transcend?
I don’t know, Can I know?
First show me your achievements
Show the scars, show the ointments
Show the perfumes show the garments
Don’t be disheartened, it may seem vain
But truth is expensive, demanding blood and pain
Many did it, so it is doable
My eyes are but scared and legs stumble
It seems difficult, and I feel weak
the fall ah! dived again from the mount-peak.

Have You Ever?

Have you ever paused to skim a stone
And considered the interplay of physics, frolic and force?
Have you ever driven a car to an new place in an unknown country
And been awed by the meshing of technology, wanderlust and law that made it doable?
Have you ever seen a dance with partners intertwined to music
And pondered on the reasons why?
Have you ever had a moment of passion that lead to your own addition to the global gene pool
And marvelled at that coincidence of impulses?
Have you ever contemplated the string of happenstance that led you, to be here,
In this very spot, reading this?
Whatever your conclusions, they matter not a jot.
What matters is your wonder
And feeling of joy in being just a tiny part of this infinite intricacy;
Delight in this universal tapestry of unending motion.

Believing
Miracle Man
5/26/2023

Start with doable goals and in faith believe,
for greatest knowledge we can ever achieve.
If rooted in choices from everyday living,
taking risks isn’t bad; most are forgiving.

One only excels when right conditions prevail,
so know your target and pay attention to detail.
If something isn’t working be bold and retry,
we’re relegated to failure when we cease to try.

The loftier the goal, the greater the price tag,
Losing your focus is like raising a white flag.
We’re assured of failing when effort is lacking,
So focus is vital if you think you’re slacking.

Focusing on goals helps make them forthcoming,
Believing is mile one on the road to becoming.

Premium MemberTribute To Shel Silverstein

I learned what I needed to know about poetry from Shel Silverstein.
Poetry does not have to be high society or serious.
It can be humorous, common, funny and fun!
I love Silverstein's books and his cartoons, he is my inspiration.

Weirdly enough, I am a cartoonist, a painter, and an artist.
In addition to being a poet, Shel was a singer and songwriter.
I have often wondered if I could write songs; I believe I could.
Sometimes Silverstein’s punchlines are so funny I howl.

I do not always strive for humor, but I am delighted when it happens.
Thanks to his unique voice, I felt that poetry was “obtainable”.
I knew that it was “manageable, and doable.”
His poetry gave me hope, and inspires me still.

Premium MemberReading Is a Cinch Ladybug Said

Reading is a cinch, the lady bug said.
I plan to do it all day today and maybe tomorrow.
I don’t get it said five-year-old-Fred.
It brings me all kinds of anguish and sorrow.

Maybe you don’t do it right, the lady bug said.
You have to know your letters and sounds each makes.
Fred stared at the red dots of the lady bug’s head.
Is that all reading is? Is that all it takes?

It’s phonics, she replied. It’s not difficult you know.
Just memorize your letters, and reading is easy.
The sounds they make, Fred whispered down low.
You make it sound doable, fun and a bit breezy.

How Much Capacity Is Enough

It's out there somewhere,
that marginal place where the elastic nature
of truth, reality,
the measure and fit of coffins,
baby cribs,
the doable dimensions of a a plasma screen
according to its scope, sufficiency, and relationship
to a plausible accommodation of any available space.
It’s the weight of a cut glass bowl of wine
on a rolling rowboat; anything that exceeds
an imprecise self-limiting amplitude
yet also be full or nearly so
to a hard to determine fill-line
of an existential brim or limit.
it is that overly deceptive inch, tittle, or quota,
a displacement that's great enough
to create its own capacity of
less or more.
We will know it
when the shrimp cocktail spills over
onto our dress shirt,
or when the cat starts to turn over the non-clumping clay
and silicone particles of its particular litter box
looking for where the bottom
is deep enough to cover the top.

Premium MemberAwareness Self-Aware

We cannot often enough
smoothens out our edges rough,
down to the subtlest layer,
in gentle, mindful prayer.

Continuous correction
steers consciousness direction,
aligned with the throb of love,
as tidings of God’s peace dove.

To this end, our will we bend,
that we may here now ascend,
transmuting form as God’s light,
bliss ensconced, to heart’s delight.

Each breath grants to us a chance
to make erect our stooped stance,
sidestepping ego borne ruse,
doable if we so choose.

Premium MemberA Bright New Day

One of these days some good some bad
But I made it through unscathed
These days happen every once in a while
No reason to walk round in a daze

Tomorrow is always a bright new world
With a fresh new perspective it seems
What dragged us down is so less important
A new day's always filled with new dreams

If we approach each exciting new tomorrow
With these positive happy thoughts
Life will be filled with sunshine and joy
Over each new hurdle you'll vault

This may be a bit altruistic in nature
But trust me it's really quite doable
It's simply a matter of always being positive
Your joy will be indisputable

One of these days some good some bad
But I made it through unscathed
With definately more good than bad
So much aggravation I save

Premium MemberSummer Days

Summer days so bright and beautiful,
Lift our spirits and make us feel freer
We are happier, clearly indisputable.

Even the birds find summer suitable
For frolicking, and simply being here,
Summer days so bright and beautiful.

I am convinced warmth is immutable
With summer comes a change of gear,
We are happier, clearly indisputable.

Such an argument, I think irrefutable
I shall not expect ski-lovers to hear,
Summer days so bright and beautiful.

In colder climes, true, living is doable
When the warm glow of sun is near,
We are happier, clearly indisputable.

This is a matter that I find inscrutable
My argument is made with good cheer
Summer days so bright and beautiful
We are happier, clearly indisputable.

It Will End On Saturday

Everything is constant and plain,
then it's a grandeur coliseum
of fireworks of fervor
and doable sins.

There are doubts, secrets and bloom
Bad hopes, uncertain future, bit of a gloom
But both knew it’s a created one with faith
Quiet, aloof, and so far restricted,
which a deity can only limit.

A decision a bit late but for couple of times
After the chaos and mess, and let say, 'dimes'
An organized decisive, decision both has made
"to meet on Saturday" was laid.

But how will one know it will end
when it haven't even started yet?
here is my grasp ---
A little secret everyone has on their clasp,

"It's possible when a mere foreshadowing
sprung out from a cliched reality",

If that!
any of you know what I mean.

Neena J Luke What Do You Want

Lights Camera Action
Photographers Pictures
It's doable
But I had enough
Of everyone forcing their idea
Of a beautiful woman on me
Do anybody care what I want
I would rather go outside
In a big white baggy sweatsuit
After I purposely drop food all over the front
I want to go outside sock less
Walking on the back of my new retro sneaks
Screaming you can't beat me
Then jump over my husband's head
Before I slam dunk
I want to sit on the steps and skip the chair
Like I did back in the day
I can't even front
And most of the time
I like drinking out of the bottle
Instead of with a straw
Sipping watered down
Strong brown liquid out of a cup
