MIRROR, MIRROR*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wearing a green gown, stood Starr~
a squirrel princess known near and far.
   In front of her mirror she did prance
  With an ego royal, filled with self-romance
“Mirror, speak of my beauty. Show me some devoir!
The mirror was wise, tried not to speak.
Thought of the princess as ugly antique.
     “Your hairstyle is a horrible a mess,
     And that old dress is just not noblesse!”
 “Have you lost your mind, you glistening freak?!”
“Me thinks I have. What’s come over me?
Of your beauty I unequivocally agree.
    I’m just a lowly piece of glass,
    Who spoke out of turn, with sass.”
He paused then said, “Princess, you’re the bees knees!”
*Note: The phrase "Mirror, mirror on the wall" originates from the fairy tale "Snow White," where the Evil Queen asks her magic mirror who is the fairest of them all. This line has been popularized in various adaptations, including Disney's animated film.
Premium MemberWomb With a View
I see the terror in their eyes…
of those who seek to paralyze
their lives screaming persistent cries
of sorrow and grief that belies
the turmoil and angst of disguise.
I see hunger, the ache within…
of those whose vain lot is cast in
hardened iron cuffs locked fast in
glum humanity's calloused skin
oblivious to kith and kin.
I see conflict and all-out war
amidst communities that are
in stiff battle for cross or bar
or power or god or dog star,
perplexed by illusive devoir.
I see a world where I will be
forever in a swirling sea
of hope and an unanswered plea
to God who is said to shield me
from all the horror I now see.
I only hope when I am born
I can survive the world, war-torn,
praying peace from the crown of thorn
begging any who with me join
to comfort others, yet unborn.
Premium MemberFr - Comment Te Dire Adieu
peu à peu comme une rose
quand vient l’automne
je t’ai vu faner
devant moi tout lentement
je n’aurais pas cru
voir éclore entre nous un amour si serein
garni d’un parfum plus divin
tu m’as offert l’intimité comme un trésor
que l’on offre sans rien à cacher
d’un cœur innocent
cette proximité restera toujours avec moi
tu seras en tout temps l’amour de ma vie
je n’aurais jamais osé croire
devoir un jour te dire adieu mais voilà
Trop Tard
Dans une langue qui ne m'appartient pas
j'essaie d'y mettre la lune entière
son sourire à plein dents et sa lumière douce
les mots me semblent creux et pourtant
en chacun d'eux, une étoile filante
mes espoirs, tous gris, tracés, brulants
quittant ce corps courbaturé
un rêve s'échappe coincé
cherchant
un oreiller où se poser
celui de ton regard qui ne m'a jamais quitté
comment le retrouver
sans devoir fermer mes paupières
--TRANSLATION--
In a language that doesn't belong to me
I am trying to place the moon
It's full toothed smile and it's soft light
The words seem hollow and yet
in each of them is a shooting star
my hopes, all in grey, traced, burning
leaving this sore body
a dream escapes stuck
searching
for a pillow to rest upon
the one that is your gaze that never left me
How to find it again
without having to close my eyes?
Consequences
Je suis toujours la meme personne
Pour t'avouer cela m'etonne
Etre gentil c'est du passe
Je vais devoir changer
Se soucier du monde
Etre present pour eux chaque seconde
je ne veux plus de cela
ceci n'est pas fait pour moi
A la fin tout le monde t'oublie
ils reviennent seulement en cas de soucis
Laissez moi tranquille s'il vous plait
Les personnes superficielles , j'en ai assez
Je ne serai plus la pour vous aider
Laissez moi vivre en paix
Premium MemberTranslation of Oodgeroo Noonuccal's Dawn Wail For the Dead By T Wignesan
La plainte au lever du jour pour les Morts – Translation of Oodgeroo Noonuccal’s “Dawn Wail for the Dead” by T. Wignesan
(Note: The style of the original smacks of hurried note-taking, say, by an anthropologist or that of just a mere diary entry.)
Maintenant la lumière peu claire à l’aube
Désigne à peine les corps de ceux qui dorment au campement.
La vieille Lubra, la première à se réveiller, se souvient:
Le premier devoir au lever du jour
C’est de se souvenir des ancêtres, pleurer leur sort.
Doucement au début elle pousse des gémissements
Un après l’autre en se réveillant on l’entend,
On la joint dans la plainte, et l’entier campement
Pousse des gémissements pour les Morts
Partis d’ici vers l’Endroit Sans Lumière:
Eux ils restent présents dans la mémoire.
Puis le devoir est complet, maintenant commence la vie,
Les feux sont attisés, le rire se répend dès lors,
Et un nouveau jour les appelle à la tâche.
My Garden
My Garden
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire
My garden I want it best.
Rain makes it unforgettable.
Your memory there should last forever.
My garden should be a nice guy
Like the bosom of a lovely lass
I want to touch.
Sunflower formely seed  ..
Oh sunflower yellow bright treat.
Eden I defy my jasmin is choicer
Lillys peeled and spread in ringent white
Agapanthus devoir and set in blues of wonder.
Roses colour bloom and ready to jab
All along the daffodils waiting to thrill.
Crimson carnations no regrets of love lost
Just a new flame in me and passion wise.
Strelitzia magnificent in a kaleidoscope of five.
Hyacinth by and large how high will you grow ?
My garden a mix bouquet of anniversarys
A showcase in celebration.
If my imagination behind these bars
Let me touch them  .. once i was free.
Free to wander
How wonderful my garden ..
Free to ponder
Or nothing.
Je T'Aime
Je t’aime
Je t’ai écris dans ma memoire
puis je t’ai redigé dans mes pensés
avec la plus fine des ancres de mon coeur!
Et comme un devoir à faire
J’ai finis par te garder sur les images de mes yeux,
dans les sons de mes orielles
et aux battement de mon coeur!
Pour chaque gestes que j’ai pu faire
et que je fasse,
me reviel d’un toi en moi
qui m’en comble et m’en porte!
Mais que puisse – je faire?
t’écrire une lettre d’amour
ou de te rediger un poeme?
Car je crains que les mots ne puisse pas te dire à l’absolu
ce que ma pensé est,
les raison et excuses que je peu en fabriquer
juste pour te dire que je t’aime!!!
