When the flowers open petals in the spring time,
flittering fleet of butterflies makes luring lattice,
the blind doesn’t see the tapestry of heavenly beauty,
but dances with unsighted boundless joy
to the whispering rhythm of the fragrant air.
When people spin in a pattern on the dance floor,
lively with the psychedelic light show,
watch the steps measure the pace of salsa,
in the undefined space of the blind dancer
the invisible floor throbs beneath the intuitive feet,
feeling the concerto of illumined cadence,
as the rhythmic moves pulsate unseen
with each movement of grace made in darkness.
The blind dancer moves instinctively
maneuvered by the strings of sound like a puppet,
living the vibrato of the music with rhythmic reflex.
Following no shadows, watching no applauding crowd
for the sightless hearing transforms the visual prompts
into dance gestures, the real rendition
of the articulate feelings
flowing elegantly in the empty dark space.

Lively gentleman Jim was an ankle stomper
a snazzy dresser, an avid dance floor romper
all of the old ladies loved taking a whirling painful turn
He was the Casanova dancer in the Nursing Home of Pern
she was dancing her joy
a woman on fire
whirling and twirling
dervish dancing
wonder and awe
surrounded the stage
we were mesmerized
falling quickly in love
passion has that way
enthusiasm pulls us in
a woman on fire
we felt the heat of the flames

The dancer with no legs
moves swiftly around the room,
knocking over the vase, and
gracefully turns to the window.
"I wish I were like the moon,"
She calls out into the night.
Her vain wishes like stones crash
through the window toward the stars.
I shift my legs to keep
one from falling asleep.
"Sometimes, I want to fall asleep,"
She tells me, “And never wake up."
Her strong arms lift the body
from wheeled chair to sofa.
And somewhere in the distance
Her stones splash into the ocean.
Mystic dancer
She glistens like diamonds
Fragile as a falling snowflake
Fluid as waterfalls
A Geisha's strength
The fat rich man dances,
his body so heavy not light
breaking the rhythm.
Beautiful music set loud,
thumps through the hall -
bass pounds heavy.
Voices rise in praise,
cheering his moves.
I love you with my entirety there isn’t one part of me that hasn’t fallen absolutely madly in love with you. Every piece of choreography you give me is like a love song written just for me. And every time I dance for you it’s me telling you I love you too.
You massage the universe’s spine
the way you twirl through time
and leave shadows on the sun.
–Saul Williams
You are love and light and brightness.
Endless and serene, you move
through the perfect aura
of your timeless self.
You are grace and mystery uncaptured,
breathtaking dancer on the stars,
bringing another brilliance
to the startled moon.
There is none like thee
among the dancers.
–Ezra Pound

The soul reminds me gently -
Once, you were a classical dancer,
Your feet knew rhythm,
Even now, beneath the silence,
that beautiful dancer still lives in you.
Did time steal it away from my hands,
or did I quietly let it slip?
I regret not knowing
why I left it unattended.
When I listen to classical melodies,
my mind sketches circles of movement,
my hands and feet awaken,
remembering what they once were.
I look at the anklets resting still,
and wonder why I chose to stop.
It wasn’t just dance,
it was a feeling,
a feeling words can never explain
the sweat,
the discipline,
the endless hours of practice.
Some days, when I am alone,
I move to the beat in silence.
The soul within me rises,
brimming with forgotten excitement.
Thank you Amma,
for planting this talent.
Yet I often wonder
did I nurture it enough,
or did I let it fade too soon?
A dancer in white floats across the stage
Her elegance looks as pretty as a swan
Her body moves with momentum and grace
Every motion in her dress flowed like rippling waters
Her arms broke the still air
And her feet danced her body
Her hair twirled and twisted to her head
Braids wrapped like a crown into her crystal tiara
Her blonde hair mixed with different shades of colour
Effortlessly she poured emotion into the breaths of her blue eyes
Her fingers painted and tickled the air that centered around her
Every ripple of her snow white dress floated like clouds
And danced like flowers in the wind
Ash falls off the mantal
Into the carpet
Like a target
White to Grey
Just like my face
Loved you like a movie
Slow beginnings
Quicker endings
But every moment
Was worth the pace
You're in my bones
You're skin deep
Feels like a welcome home
But im the black sheep
I miss dancing under string lights
Elton John, tiny dancer in the night
You left me hanging like those lights
Surrendered all my rights
Just for a conversation or two
Ruined myself all over again
Just to aid and abbet you
Flashbacks of you
Feel like snow
in the middle of june
Out of place
But gone too soon
My love was a promise
I swore to keep
It was eternities long
And Oceans deep
Had to throw it all to sea
Just to forget me
