Whanging Willow's lighting wand
He is, the legend Imran Khan
The world has known him since long
His charisma and bravery are strong
From cricketer to a philanthropist he evolved
His free cancer hospital is an inspiration to all
He steps into politics to help more the poor
And challenges the world for being so hypocrite
He talks of God, freedom, equality and love
Plants 10 billion trees to fight climate change
Did much to improve the lives of unprivileged class
And call for justice and peace on different world forums
His sole reward is 30 years jail
A national and international conspiracy in place

Sydney airport in twenty eleven
On route to help Scots go to heaven
My son Jeremy at six foot two
Cricketer Athlete and rugby man too
Big tough man with sense of humour
Loves whats real and hates wrong rumour
Standing there to wave goodbye
Stares at me and starts to cry
"I love you" is exchanged in tears
"Love you Dad" final words to me
Qantas Flight 1 above Sydney Harbour
Just makes my tears and pain go harder
I'll never forget Sydney twenty eleven
And I know I'll see Jeremy smile in heaven.

Aries
husband, father, doctor, and cricketer,
Lover of poetry, photography, music,
in a World divided by arrogance, ignorance and greed!
Dream of a world without borders, of happy children without starvation,
I fear world is consumed by prejudice, selfishness and lacks wisdom,
I am a devote friend, a romantic lover, a committed dad,
My magic wand would sprinkle happiness to all, smash grief like a battering
Ram!

Well, what can I tell you about both my names?
I'm not quite sure where I should start,
'Vivian' means 'lively' which raises a smile
to friends of this tired old fart.
It's not very common as names for men go,
and famous Vivians very few
Viv Richards the cricketer and Vivian Fuchs
the explorer, they're the only two.
My surname's from Derbyshire, Wirksworth, in fact,
all sweat and pickaxes and fire,
and I now don't think my forename is that odd
with an ancestor named Obidiah.
My forebears were lead miners, hazardous work
with poisonous ore and rock falls
and looking back over my family tree
I'm surprised that I'm here at all !

In twenty three a star was born,
A supernova amateur
Amongst a galaxy of pros.
Self-taught, he’d gain respect from all.
His generous spirit helped the young
With finance and encouragement
Inspired a post-war generation
Of graduate astronomers.
So many aspects to his life :
A TV personality,
Cheerful monocled professor,
Enthusiastic cricketer
(He bowled a vicious Chinaman !),
A guardian of the animal world,
Composer and musician,
Stargazer extraordinaire.
The sky at night is now less bright –
A knight is missing from the sky.
Our shining Patrick is no more,
His bright infectious chatter, gone.
On life outside the solar system
There’ll always be much speculation,
But he would keep an open mind,
When pressed on beings, alien.
He’d fix you with his glassy stare
And with that enigmatic smile
Pronounce his mantra clear and slow
To those who’d ask : “We just don’t know” !

It was the best of times for us, we lovers of the game
The field was green and sweetly laid
And you whispered swift wind, storm with silver flame
The red eyed ball silent, and unafraid.
The knights wore white who came to joust, each cause
Against our claim, we had one ball
Without a chain, a free man between the lion's raw paws,
You took the ball, and foes did fall.
Yes, Sir pure in heart, your vote was not to war, but life
Is set by things outside of our choice
The call was made by history, and you forged well its strife
To run up whispering, our Rolls Royce.
The shackle on the human mind in strange symbols hide
You stood long for us without deceit
Your battles were our pride, the lamb fortune did provide
For virtue backed by right has no defeat.
So now the battlefield is cleared, and singers sing no more
I the last trobadour will your homage pay
Great Cricketer among the score, your missile from our shore
Has swept the sense of least away, away.

In the year 1989,
A long time ago!
I heard Sachin smash Qadir,
On the radio!
Test Cricket,
Was the name of the game!
I knew instantly,
Cricket would never be the same!
In complete humility,
He graced the field!
His sound batting prowess,
Made every bowler yield!
He conquered every record,
He’s the only King!
Not just a cricketer,
But a lovely human being!
He is the Master,
Who blasted away to fame!
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar,
Is his famous name!
I have always prayed,
That he wins me the Cup!
India was blessed to see my Idol,
Lift the 2011 World Cup!
Dedicated to: SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR....My Icon, my idol, who inspires awe worldwide
and patriotism in countless number of Indians! My Country was indeed blessed enough to
see him lift the 2011 Cricket World Cup...:-)
